*after a lot of months of abandoning this story, I finally gained back my motivation and I'm now working to continue writing the rest of the chapter. Hope you enjoy reading!
Nick and Lantern already found a terrain to settle in and they only need to find woods strong enough to make their shelter's foundation. The catch is, Nick often kept his distance to the sunflower due to his crippling fear that she'll verbally attack him again, and he sometimes even refuse to help, impeding their progress. Unsurprisingly, Lantern thought that she's being resented, making her lose it and set about another fight with Nick.
"You always are scared of me. WHAT'S WRONG?" Lantern raises, glaring at Nick.
"Uh, y-you were always been this easily-angered person and you're really creeping me out!" Nick defensively utters.
"THEN JUST LEAVE! WHY DO YOU CARE?" Lantern argues as she tosses a log and stands up.
"I-I can't just leave you out here! Noise never told us to separate or anything!" Nick contends as he immediately backs off a little.
"What do you mean? Noise is FULL OF HIMSELF! HE THINKS HE CAN SOLVE ALL OF THIS BY HIMSELF BY LEAVING US OUT IN THE OPEN, NEITHER HE CARE ABOUT US!" Lantern screams.
"H-he'll not like that. I'm sure it's unintentional and he's just doing it for our own good. T-that's what he promised us!" Nick responds as he desperately try to speak calmly.
"Oh, now you're trying to JUSTIFY HIS BEHAVIOR? SURE HE IS SELF-ABSORBED!" Lantern insists.
Nick lets out a bit of an exhale and utters, "Look, whatever he does, the least we can do is trust him. I-It's not like we both know what to do next when literally everyone is on our tail!".
"Man, whatever." Lantern promptly replies, although in a pale tone, as she picks the log she threw.
Moments passed.
The Plant Heroes arrived to Dave's house in time, and they decided to discuss matters regarding their false allies.
"Damn it, we should've known better!" uttered Agent Pea in dismay.
"Well, you guys shouldn't have trusted that balloon-head in the first place," Nate answered, "Plus, we must always keep in mind that the guy is certainly gonna stab us in the back the moment he offered us alliance out of the blue," He'd pause moments later.
Green Shadow would let a burst of grunt in response, "I knew he's acting suspicious all the time when I asked him about Chompzilla."
"I think we all know that he's a big-time baddie," Nate stuttered, "W-wait, not buddy, alright? He isn't no friendly dude!" He cackles.
"Ah, cut it out," Dave replies.
"Um, why, uncle?" Nate looked back at Dave, much to his bafflement.
"We can both see that they're not in the mood to laugh no matter how funny your jokes are," He answered, "I mean, just look at their face, yikes!" He'd whisper to Nate as he let out a nervous laugh.
"Okay, I see," Nate comments, staring back at the plants, "Guys, I gotta know why all of you agreed to trust that foul-breathing bastard, uncle Dave excluded," He raised.
"Uh, who?" Rose asked in a delayed tone.
"Oh, Doctor Zomboss, that guy," Nate swiftly answered.
"Well," Rose replied, "We aren't even sure to be honest."
"Oh, m'kay then," Nate remarks, "Anyways, I just came all the way back here from a vacation, see what's up with Neighbourville!" He'd add.
"And uh, seems like y'all just got in some messy situation," Nate spoke, "I'm not even going to be surprised if one of you reached out to me about Zomboss's petty betrayal."
