Recently, while Zomboss is outside of Zomburbia, the plants had decidedly went out on their way to attack the zombies' camps that's been in the forest just a few meters away from Neighbourville. Expectedly, chaos ensued in a blink of an eye and the zombies began to defend themselves. Some even fled away much to their terror, oftentimes back to their city.
It all began when a squad of plants had positioned themselves in the bushes as they await the right moment to strike, much to the zombies' unawareness. The troops paced back and forth as they patrolled throughout the dark oak trees when all of a sudden, a bunch of the zombie soldiers got ambushed by the enemies, perturbing their zombie allies that's near by.
Most of them fought back, but they were outnumbered by firepower and quickly lost. The surviving zombies frantically ran back towards Zomburbia's outer walls, activating the alarms just right before they got killed by a bunch of Gatling Peas on the spot.
The border guards speedily reached for their weapons, some triggering the anti-personnel turrets. Unfortunately, a great amount of unsuspecting plants rushed towards the walls right away thinking they've cleared the area, and they all got shot to death.
A group consisting of Melon-pults and repeaters arranged themselves in an attempt to shoot down the guards above the gigantic wall, but they barely even managed to take down a zombie or two in the process.
The fight lasted for a few minutes before a tremendous amount of plants came towards their way as backup. The Cob Cannons began to destroy the wall with relative ease, providing a pathway for the plants. Though the zombie guards stood in one position as they gunned down the approaching plants, a group of Cherry Bombs flew out of nowhere and came towards their direction, sending the zombies atop soaring to the ground in a whopping speed as they 'explodonated'.
As the plants were just about to continue moving forward, a bunch of backups took the zombies' position and started to fire at them. The Tall-nuts jumped right in and spread themselves horizontally, blocking the incoming projectiles that flew towards their plant allies.
After a few moments does the Cob Cannons were able to recharge, launching numerous corns into the air. The zombies goggled in the sky as they witnessed these giant corns nose-diving onto their spot, much to their horror. A few continued to fight back, but at this moment a large chain of ear-piercing explosions followed and maimed a bunch of the zombies, forcing them to retreat after they were reduced to a broad amount. The surrounding objects such as wheelbarrows, chairs, and decorations were also demolished at the process, creating a whole lot of mess scattered on the ground as smoke fanned out throughout the scene.
Meanwhile at Zombopolis, everyone was running back and forth in panic as they looked for random objects to use as protection, much to their raging desperation. The workers discontinued doing their everyday activities and gathered up in the facilities, arming themselves with whatever they can find to stand guard. Moments pass and the streets were empty. The agitation seems to have died down, and the zombies had already hid inside the buildings, with some even sitting inside the dumpsters periodically opening the cover as they peered from within, awaiting battle.
Soon after, the plants arrived at a medium-sized town and were greeted with troops of zombie soldiers as they all appeared from the windows, gunning them without hassle. A lot of them died in the process, but they were able to take cover in time. The Gatling Peas managed to take down the enemies regardless, and they all took a deep breath, much to their comfort.
But little did they know, a group of three zombie soldiers hid by the wooden fences as one of them began to open a lighter, igniting a piece of dynamite as he grasped on it firmly.
