Raon kept his gaze fixed on the human as they walked. His body feels warm and comfortable within the human's embrace but the black-haired man feels very distant.

It's almost as though the human can't stand looking at him for too long. The gentle embrace of the human is in contrast with his look. Raon can't explain it; the human was looking at him but he thinks that it's not actually him that the redhead is seeing.

He watched how the human desperately held his lifeless body while crying out for his name. He is sure that he hasn't seen the human before other than the bastard who tortured him. And yet, he acted like he meant the world to him.

Never in his miserable life did he expect someone to grieve so sadly... very sadly for him.

It's even more shocking because when he saw the tears running down the human's face, his heart clenched in agony. The human wore a look of sorrow on his face. He does not want this man to be sad and he has no idea why.

Nonetheless, he was fortunate to have the opportunity to live again, this time outside of the cage. The mysterious God told him that someone will provide him with a home.

The human holding him feels like home.

He has never given up hope of escaping that place filled with bittersweet hope, absolute misery, and torture. When his sanity snapped, so did his hope of getting his freedom.

He already knew he'd die if he used his life force to produce a mana explosion just to get away. If he was going to die eventually, he wanted to do so while still being able to breathe fresh air.

Before killing him, the swordmaster apologized and looked him in the eyes. He has no grudge against the other. He felt relieved that his suffering had come to an end.

And right now, the human that is holding him really resembles himself when he was still trapped in a cage.

Raon is scared for this human, he feels like the black-haired man will suddenly disappear without anyone knowing.

He appears to be clinging to the rope's edge, ready to let go at any moment. Just like when he was in the cage.

He's curious as to what led the human to this point.

Cale sighed as he noticed the inquisitive stares directed towards him. He realizes that it's because he popped out of nowhere in their life and piqued their interest, but when did they become so perceptive that he feels like their gaze is boring into his soul?

He should be used to whatever he's going through because it's happened to him twice before, but when he looks at the tiny dragon in his arms, he can't help but think about Raon's farewell smile before he died. The memory continues playing over and over in his head like a broken record.
