"Your Majesty, the King," Ciel said as he entered the room, before asking, "Why did you summon me?"
"I somehow feel uncomfortable hearing you call me that," Zed said, his face unhappy.
The raven-haired man sighed and drew his hood down. "Did you need anything?"
"Yes," Zed said seriously, nodding. "I actually want you to come to the meeting, which I'm sure you've heard about." He sat there and watched as the man took a seat in front of him.
Ciel nodded, his brow furrowed in perplexity. "Of course, I'm on my way there to see Cale."
It was now Zed's time to raise his brow and point at the other man's robes.
"Surely, you're not planning to go there all covered up?"
"If that's what you're afraid about, I can keep myself invisible."
"That isn't the point." Zed sighed deeply and rubbed his brow. "I'd like you to come to the meeting so that I can officially introduce you as my representative."
Of course, Ciel understood what he was saying, but he's not going to call the man out on it. A representative is no different from a minister. But he presumes it's good because it would make his work much easier; after all, he is essentially permitted to act in the sovereign's name.
Ciel inclined his head. "Is it the right moment for that?"
"Hm. You'll finally be able to move around freely without being bothered by unnecessary questions," the blond replied, drumming his fingertips leisurely on the table.
Ciel looked at him for a minute longer before reluctantly nodding. When the occasion arises, he can simply bribe the man to remove his status. He can't be both a representative and a supreme commander at the same time, or else a crowd of nobles will descend on him, which will be extremely irritating.
"Is there anything else?"
Zed was deafeningly quiet for a long time, with only the sound of his fingers tapping to be heard. He let out a sigh before speaking somewhat hesitantly.
"Also, to show to those nobles that I intend to hand up the kingdom to my eldest child as soon as possible."
Ciel smiled lazily, his cheek resting on the back of his hands as he gazed at the decorations on the wall in front of him. If Alberu had known about this, he would have died of shock. He is someone deserving of the crown; of all the princes, he was the one who worked the hardest for the position without receiving any assistance.
Zed appears to be using him to showcase his support for Alberu by sending his one and only envoy to the man.
"It looks like you have finally chosen to publicly declare your support for him, Your Majesty."
"I already had someone prepare clothes for you, so you better get moving." Zed decided not to answer the question of the other man as he averted his gaze, dismissing him with a wave of his hands.
"Take the carriage for a ride; the main hall is a bit far away."
Go ahead and make your spectacular entrance. Is how Ciel interpreted it.
Ciel merely stared at the other guy blankly, making no effort to say anything, and stood up when a butler knocked and entered the room to bring him out to get dressed.
Fair enough, at least he can still enter with Cale as promised.
