"Finally, it is over."

"Are you sure you don't want us to accompany you outside, young master?" Amiru asked, her eyes filled with concern and sympathy for the redhead due to a certain waste of space that kept on taunting him.

"Don't bother and go ahead, we will follow shortly," Cale replied blandly to which he earned a nod from the woman.

"Take your time, Cale. Don't worry, we will deal with him." Eric remarked with a pleasant smile, while the small smirk that crept up on Cale's lips went unnoticed by many.

"Alright then. We will see you there," Amiru offered them a nod before turning around on her heels together with the two who walked beside her on their way out.

Cale rested his palm on his hip, his attention fixed on the black-haired man who was staring at his lap.

"Ciel," He called out, the name that rolled off his tongue sounding better each time he pronounces it.

"Let's leave."

The man blinked at him in surprise and followed it with a nod, "They left already?"

Ciel observed his surroundings, the people seated at their table were finally gone and so were Taylor and the priestess. He assumes they're getting ready to meet with the crown prince anytime soon.

With a frown on his face, Cale answered, "They did."

Was Ciel so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn't notice the others leaving? What was he thinking, exactly?

"I see."

Cale waited patiently for the black-haired man to stand up, an amused smile on his face as he watched Ciel yawn tiredly.

With a pat on his lap, dusting off whatever dirt there was, or simply straightening the wrinkled fabric, Ciel finally got out of his seat and faced the exit.

"Alright, let's leave."

"Ciel, wait."

Alberu's voice rang out loud and clear, blending with the resounding footsteps of the remaining nobles as they exited the palace.

"Your highness," Ciel returned graciously while standing motionless on his feet, his expression unsurprisingly stoic, as if encouraging the blond to be quick and say what he needed to say.

"The day before..." Alberu started, shame and regret circling his whole body.
