Ian
The alarm clock rang loud in my ears, I slowly rolled over to see the bright red colors of 5:44 am. I slightly wince at the red colors. With the high pitch beeping and chirping coming from the alarm clock, I raised my hand and dropped it on the snooze button. I roll back around and cover myself with the comforters from my bed. I was too tired to get up from bed, nor did I have the motivation to get up. School was going to be dreadful, probably more than usual. After seeing my comfort Youtuber dead on the ground, just thinking about it makes my muscles tense and my stomach sick, and who would beat her up so brutally? Who would want to? What did she ever do to deserve this? I scoffed and turned around and closed my eyes to go back to sleep, but after a couple of seconds later my alarm went off again and before I knew it I hit my cancel button on my alarm clock and was sitting up straight, I stared at the wall a bit and shook my head and sighed. I turned my body to the opposite side of the bed and got up from my bed. I sluggishly walked to my bathroom, I looked up into the mirror after brushing my teeth to see my fairly dark tan-ish skin tone, and a few of my black soft curls covering my eyes. I pull my hair up to place it in my contacts because I think I look weird in glasses. After placing my contacts in, I rub my nostril and the bandage across the bridge of my nose. It was one of those kid bandages with a bright yellow glow and black X's and O's because it was the only thing Laurence had in his house. I got this after my beating from Carlos, also one of the reasons why I don't wear glasses. After washing up I leave to the bathroom to put on my uniform, a dark navy blue tie, jacket, and dress pants with a white shirt and black dress shoes. This uniform wasn't anything cozy, after wearing it a couple of times, you kind of get sick of it. The school tries its best to look like the "best school in the nation," and gives all the smart, superior, and popular kids all the special treatment.
I walked out of my room and went down the stairs and to the kitchen. I wanted to get something quick to eat, I knew the bus was going to come out around 6:33 am, I turned my head to the green-lit oven clock that read 6:12 am. I went into the pantry to reach for Captain Crunch, which I had to go on my tippy-toes to get, and left it on the counter. After getting the milk, spoon, and bowl, I pour my cereal into the bowl and then I pour the milk into the bowl after. Watching the sweetened, yellow, square-shaped cereal pieces slowly float to the top, when they finally reached the top, I started eating my cereal. As I was crunching on my cereal, the pink sticky note I left caught the corner of my eye. I picked up the field trip form while lifting the spoon of cereal to my mouth. I loosely dropped my spoon in my bowl, spilling a bit of the milk. I intensely stare at the blank field trip form, I slam my fist against the counter making the bowl rumble and spilling more of the milk. What the heck? How hard is it to leave $15 bucks and sign in the blank spots? It didn't take 2 weeks, I left them a note. Did they ignore it? Did they not see it? No way it's right in the middle of the kitchen counter which is also in the middle of the kitchen! I crumpled the paper a bit from the thought of them purposely ignoring the very form I've been so desperate for them to sign, it's not difficult. You click the pen, you sign the paper, and you give a measly check or money. I tightly grip the form and march upstairs, passing my room and the bathroom, and continue walking down to the end of the hall which was my parent's room. I grab on the knob, first being hesitant, but then fully swinging the door open.
"HEY!" I shouted. My mom and dad slowly groaned, also shifting around in their bed. "Have I not been asking you guys to fill out my form?" I asked. "Ian..?" My mom finally said. I walked over and slammed my form on my mom's nightstand and flicked on her lamp. So many things I wanted to say, so many things they have done and neglected. I wanted them to hear it all. "Can you sign my form please, here and now?" I asked politely, and the only thing that left my mouth. Even if I yelled at them, even if I told them how I felt, I had a feeling it would end up in a pointless argument which I knew I wouldn't win. My mom was carefully signing on the lines and after she was done. She put her pen back in her drawer and said softly "Go to your dad for money." I walked around their beige and white-colored queen bed. "Hey..?" I said, he responded with him still snoring. I gritted my teeth and clenched my jaw, I shook him up and down, and back and forth.
