Hayes's POV
All the guys and I are going to Sarah's graduation party. I had no clue what to expect. I don't know if she'll remember me, if she'll still be mad at me. I'm completely clueless.
Sarah's mom called me a week or two ago and asked if the guys and I would like to go. My number on my cell phone hasn't changed so I'm curious of how she got it. Did she find Sarah's old phone? Did she even get a new phone? Oh well, I'm here and I guess that's more important."Nervous to see Sarah?" Nash asked as we walked closer to the barn.
"Yeah." I nodded my head. "I don't know if she'll remember me or what."
"She has to remember you." Cameron spoke.
It was a slight silence.
"What if we fall in love again?" I whispered, but the guys heard.
"That would be pretty cute." Matt smiled, nudging my arm. I blushed and looked down as we walked into the barn, where everyone is.
"Oh! He's blushing!" Cameron said, a little to loud for my liking.
"Oh shut up!" I snapped back, then laughing and pushing him to the side."Hey guys." Sarah's mom made her way to us, then giving us all hugs.
"Hey." I smiled, getting the first hug. She then went down the line. As she was going down the line and talking to each individual, I was scanning the barn until I saw Sarah. She watching everyone dance as she was sipping on her drink. There was something in Sarah that caused me to get butterflies. God Hayes, why did you have to be so stupid and leave her. Other than that? She has gotten so beautiful during the time I was away. Her beauty is astonishing and just looking at her makes me smile.
"Sarah doesn't even know you're here." We all turned around to look at her. We all looked at her, but she didn't lift her head.
"Okay, I have to go. Go socialize. Have fun." She smiled as she patted Matthew's shoulder and left us."Let's go talk to Sarah." Carter stated, pointing to where she is.
"No!" I protested.
"Why not?" Nash asked. I tried to think of an excuse but I couldn't.
"You just don't want her to still be mad at you for the 'break up' that happened at least five years ago." Matt stated, reading my mind. He put his arm around me as I looked at ground nodding silently.
"It's fine. She'll forgive you, believe me. Five years ago she loved you to death and deep down there is that small spark in there that just needs to ignite into a flame." Matt reassured. I smiled hoping that was true. "Come on. Let's go talk to her." Matt finished as we all began to walk towards her."Hey." I smiled as we were now standing right in front of her. Her face lit up when she saw us.
"Hey!" She gasped then smiled giving us all hugs. Matthew first, then Cameron, Nash, and Carter. Then I was last. Her smile slightly faded, but it was still there.
She smiled politely as I gave her a friendly hug. I could tell ever since she seen me she's being slightly awkward. Once again, my fault.
"This is awesome. I miss you guys. We haven't talked in so long." Sarah laughed. When she laughed, I slightly broke on the inside. I've never realized how much I missed her laugh until I heard it.
"I had no clue you guys were coming. Best present ever." She smiled wide, bringing us in for a group hug.
Does Sarah remember what happened five years ago? Does she still hate me for it?
