Sarah's POV
Hayes, Matthew, Cameron, Nash, and Carter have all came for my graduation party. I was completely blown away.
When I saw Hayes, I'll admit it, he looked really good.I do remember what happened five years ago. But, I just chose for it not to take over my life. I moved on. It was hard but I did. He never texted back so I gathered that he lost interest in me. People change.
"I had no clue you guys were coming. Best present ever." I smiled, bringing them in for a group hug.
"Glad you like our company." Nash smiled.
"By the way, you don't need to hang around me twenty four seven. You guys can go pick up some chicks." I laughed, nudging Cameron's arm. They all rolled their eyes. The guys then slightly chuckled, looking at Hayes.
"I don't need to pick up chicks. I need to pick up a drink." Cameron laughed, then slightly coughed. Is he hinting something to the guys?
Before I knew it, everyone was already walking away to the punch bowl. Hayes and I are now alone.
"Were they planning to do that the entire time?" I chuckled, looking at them walk away. He chuckled.
"Probably." I looked up at his eyes.Hayes's eyes were the same beautiful blue that I remember. Perfect and Endless. Quickly, I snapped out of whatever was going through my mind.
"Do you-uh want to go for a walk?" Hayes asked, obviously nervous.
"Sure." I smiled, as I guided us out of the barn.
"How long do you think this party's going to last?" Hayes asked, sparking up a conversation.
"Probably 11 because a lot of the people that came are family and people who go to sleep at around nine." I chuckled, looking at the ground. "What time is it even?" I asked, pointing to Hayes's phone. Which was in his hand.
"Seven." He checked then looked at me. I nodded my head.As we were walking his hand gently brushed against mine.
During that split second when we touched, I felt slight electricity go through my entire body. I then looked up at him, and he smiled at the ground, blushing.
I smiled at him.
"Sorry." He murmured, looking at me.
"It's okay." I spoke back in the same tone.No words were spoke as we were listening to our footsteps and the sounds of nature that surrounded us.
"I really missed talking to you." I stated, simply.
"Yeah. Me too." He paused. "Look, I'm sorry for not texting you back five years ago. I honestly don't even have an excuse to use. I don't know if you are still angry with me, but I just want to say I'm sorry." Hayes stated, looking at me as we slowly began to stop walking.
"It's fine. I was mad at you a while back, but it's fine now. Apology accepted." I smiled, then almost suddenly hugging him. He hugged back tightly as he rested his chin on my shoulder. It now feels as if Hayes has never even left.
