It was a normal day as always; I took my cold shower and went for a morning walk today. My dad wasn't home, so it was kind of peaceful to just unwind without having to hear his sluggish voice every morning. I had set a reminder on my phone for the time of when the audition has started, it starts at 6:00 pm and ends at midnight, which is a long time to practice but these people are serious about wanting to become what they are trying out for. I would love to work as a popstar, it has been my dream since I was a kid. I was making myself a quick snack in the kitchen when I received a text on my phone.
~Hey Abby, I need some help organizing the shelves today are you free? ~
I look at the time before starting and realized it was only 2:00 pm. I had a bunch of time to spare so I didn't think much about helping out at the store today.
~Yes, I am free. Will be right over. ~
I said responding with a smiley face right after. I had eaten the last bit of my toast before putting on my shoes and heading for the bus stop. The ride to the mall wasn't that long today because not that many people are getting on the bus for some reason. I wasn't sure why, but it worked out in my favor, I guess. I arrive at the store around 2:30 Ish and the mall is crowded with people holding up banners and signs. They are all chanting and yelling but not in a bad way, more like a cheering way. I got off the bus and was waiting to cross the street. While waiting I could see what everyone was chanting for. It was for some guy playing a guitar and singing. His voice was angelic, and he had a face structure like no other. The vibe that he was giving off was just emasculate and very much breathtaking. The crossing signal had appeared and that's when I crossed the street. While walking by I made eye contact with the guy that was singing. He smiled at me, and I smiled back because he was very attractive. He continued playing and singing and I went to go do what I came here for.
I walked in and saw Ms. Patel wiping off the counter. She looked up once she heard the bell of the door ring and saw me standing there.
"Hi, Abby I am so glad that you were free today!"
"I am always willing to lend a helping hand," I say with a warming smile.
"So, you said you needed the shelves organized?"
"Oh yes! I want you to organize the shelves over here and then the one right behind you."
"Gotcha."
" I'll be in the back working on some stuff just call if you need me."
I put on my headphones, but I don't put both in. I keep one out just in case a customer comes in. I start with the shelf that was on the left wall, it was filled with a bunch of wax melts and candles in all different scents. This wall I decided to organize by color since there was a variety of them. By far my favorite one was the juicy apple. It was such a soft scent, and I loved the color since red was my favorite. Another one that I liked was washing waters. It was a clean linen scent and reminded me of the summer. I was immersed with all the scents, and I wish that I could take them for myself. Just as I finished the last scent the doorbell had rung. I look over to see that it was the man who was singing outside of the mall earlier. He is looking at all the shelves and examining the store.
"Hi welcome to Grannies Place! Need help finding something?"
"Yes, actually I need to find a gift for my mom, got any ideas?" he replied with a smile
"Well, what does she like? I announced
"Well, she likes more of light scents, nothing too heavy," he added
"Follow me," I answered
I lead him to the shelf that I has just organized and showed him washing waters.
"This should be great for her; it's a very light scent and it can bring good summer memories."
"Do you personally own this one?" He remarked with a chuckle
"Well, no but if I had to buy one it would be this one or the juicy apple," I added.
"Well, then I will take your word for it."
He took the Candle and along with a couple of other wax melts and met me at the counter. I start wrapping them in the bag while he inserts his credit card.
"So, what's on the agenda today um...?"
"Oh, It's Abby and I have an audition at 6:00 pm," I said while ringing up his items
"You do see what time it is right?" I look at him in confusion and then look at the clock.
"5:00 pm!? Where did the time go!?"
"How far away is the place?"
"By bus, it's two hours, I'm not going to make it in time." I sighed while putting my head in my hands.
"I can take you if you are ok with it."
"Oh, I don't know, We just me-"
"JINHYEONG DARLING YOU ARE BACK!"
"AH MS. PATEL I THOUGHT YOU LEFT!" He hugged her while I am just standing dumbfounded.
"What are you doing back here I thought you went on tour?"
Tour? What does she mean by tour?
"I was but it was cut short."
Who the hell is this guy?
"Well, I am glad that you're back, I missed you being here, what were you talking about with Abby?"
"I was offering to give her a ride to her audition since she lost track of time."
"Abby, you should let him, he is good people."
I think about it carefully and I decide to give in since I have no other option.
"Ok let's go we don't have that much time."
"Oh wait! Here." I handed him the gift that be bought for his mom. He takes it and we leave the store.
"I am letting you know right now you are going to have to run but keep your head down."
"Keep my head do-"
"THERE HE IS!"
"GO!" He grabs my hand, and we take off running through the mall. We quickly run down the stairs and out of the side doors of the mall where we duck into an ally way.
"WHAT IN THE F-"
"SHHH they might hear you." Next thing I know I hear screaming going past where we just hid. I turn around to face him while I am still squatting. "Can we go now?" He does nothing but looks at my lips then back at my eyes. I just pretended like I didn't notice
"Helllllooooo"
"What?"
"Can we go now? It's creepy back here."
"Oh yeah" We stand up and run to the car which is now parked across the street. We get in the back seat, and we pull off.
"So, Abby where is this place you are going to?"
"Well on the business card it says a place called SEONGKYEONG ENT? What even the hell is that?"
"That is the place I am heading to right now don't worry you will be there before 6."
When we got there, it was 5:20 pm so I was very confused on why it would take two hours on a bus if it was only twenty fucking minutes. we headed inside and checked in at the desk
"Well, here we are."
"Thanks for the ride I owe you one."
before we parted ways, we exchanged phone numbers. He is a really sweet guy, so I didn't mind but it's not like I am going to be texting him. I have to focus on what I need and not what I want. I wave goodbye and head upstairs to where the auditions are being held. I wanted to get a good stretch in before everything started, so that's what I did.
