KATARA'S POV:

My eyes opened as my hand shook, my body staying strong as I looked up. Liberty Academy. My eyes watered a little bit, everything starting to blur, as I felt things around me spinning. I looked down at my phone, seeing the map turn off, signalling that I'd arrived at my destination. My heartbeat sped up as I stepped forward, pressing the small button and holding up my hand signal.

The door buzzed, and when I went to open it, I heard simultaneous gasps coming from ahead of me. My head snapped up and my eyes were locked with the brown ones that used to welcome me every day of my life. A small smile formed on her face, mine mirroring. I walked over slowly, her hands running to mine, checking to see if I was really there.

"Katara," she whispered, "is it really you?" I slowly nodded, my heart racing, my tears slipping down my cheeks, my hands shivering in my pockets.  "Yeah." My voice was light and airy, and I could see the way she was shivering. "Hi, Mrs. Attamian. I'm back and healthy." Her hands went to my cheeks, wiping away my tears, letting me hug her gently.

I missed this place so fucking much.

"Katara?"

My lips formed into a curl as I pulled my hair a little, waving my hand to my fiancé running towards me. "You're here! You're really, really here! You're actually here, Katara! Oh my goodness-" I cut him off with my lips, his smile huge as he shut up, smiling as he picked me up and spun me in the air.

"What are you doing here? How do you remember this place? Oh my God, Katara, did you get another flashback? Why didn't you call me? Did you fall? Are you hurt?" I smiled, shaking my head as he put me down slowly. "No, Aang." I took a deep breath, slowly smiling.

"My memory is now completely restored to full health."

His eyes widened as he stared at me, not knowing what to say or do. I gently smiled, taking his hands in mine and pressing a small kiss to both of them. "I remember when we were six and you told me you loved me for the first time. You said Liang had told you that and you wanted to let me know in case anything happens."

He widened his eyes as I whispered, "we were in the tree." I saw the tears form and slide down his cheeks as he leaned in, pecking my lips gently, his head leaning into my chest. "I remember when we did our first Christmas pageant here." He smiled up at me as I whispered, "and I would run around screaming 'extra, extra! read all about it!' for months."

"I remember when the teachers taught me how to do the sign of the cross wrong and I started yelling at them."

"I remember when I tripped on that stage in 3rd grade and no one realized my muscle was ripped until 5th and I'm still dealing with that today."

"I remember when Zuko chased me around the classroom because I said the word 'Math'."

"I remember when we did the Christmas Journal in 1st grade."

"I remember all the good and bad times with Azula. With Mai."

"I remember the gym sleepovers."

"I remember crying like a baby at the 7th grade pageant."

"I remember crying like a baby at the 8th grade pageant."

"I remember crying like a baby at the 7th grade field day."

"I remember crying like a baby at the 8th grade field day."

"Aang, I remember."

His eyes watered as his lips turned upward and my heart swelled as his hands trailed down to my stomach. "You really remember?"

I nodded, smiling. "I remember."

His smile was something unforgettable. Completely, 100% unforgettable. The way his eyes lit up and his mouth tilted and all the pain and fear in him lifted, evaporated into thin air, it was a sight to behold. I could truly see the way he was.

"We're gonna go around the state," he whispered. "While we're here in New York we're gonna go around the whole damn state, finding the high schools where all your old kids went to." I smiled, resting my forehead on his shoulder. "I would love that. But we're hungry. Can we go get food?"

He smiled, nodding, his hand slowly rubbing my stomach, leaving a small peck there. "Just let me clock out, darling." I nodded, pressing my back against the wall and leaning there as he walked off.

After Aang asked me to be his girlfriend in public last year, in 2021, I started getting really weirdly sick. Azula was getting very concerned, and then she forced me to take a pregnancy test. Katora started complaining that Azula was going insane, but it came back positive.

The only reasonable explanation was that it was when I was raped. Back in May, you know? That has to be. Because that's the only time I've had sex after before the crash. Not that it was consented, but it was the only time, you know what I mean?

We did go to my doctor and she told me we were correct, that was the correct day. So we don't know who the father is and we won't until the child comes out. Which, we also don't know. I mean, it's February first. This is the tenth month I'm pregnant with this kid. They really don't wanna come out.

COVID-19 died down here. We don't have to wear masks if we're fully vaccinated, including the booster, which Aang and I both did. So did the entire group. All the girls went and got vaccinated on one day, and the boys the next week, because we knew we were gonna get really sick, which we did.

"Okay," Aang said, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Let's go, my love. I'll call the gang and tell them to meet us at the house. We can get McDonald's, that sound good?" I smiled and nodded, letting him hold me tight for a minute. "Can we go out the back? If I see Mrs. Attamian cry again I'm gonna lose it." He laughed lightly, nodding, as he marked me towards the stairs.

I love you so much, Aang.

This is going to be my happy ending.
