A few days passed since the Eevee siblings had been accepted into Nightfall. Zero was quick to befriend the two, and he was a good distraction for the siblings after what transpired previously. It had only snowed once, and since then, the frost was beginning to melt into the grass.

Night approached, and a few citizens were basking in the moonlight, resting at a pond and river near the village. It was a popular spot to hang out at, but at night, it was deserted. Amethyst was lazing by the river, along with a Lurantis, Swellow, Mareep, Quilava, blue Florges, Charmeleon, and a Dewgong. Amethyst was still upset about her fight with Glaze, sulking while staring at her reflection in the water. The others were either asleep or gazing at the stars above.

Rose was chasing Rocky around the village and ended up beside them. Rocky was standing right in front of the stream, hesitating to jump when Rose accidentally pushed him in. She suddenly remembered that Rocky didn't know how to swim, but neither did she, and the river was deep enough to cover Rocky completely.

Rose screamed and caught the attention of the Pokémon across from her. Three of them leaped up and were rushing to save Rose's brother, listening to her frantic cries of "Rocky!" and, "He fell! He fell in!"

The Lurantis reached the side of the river, stretching its arm out to the water to catch Rocky before he drifted too far.

Just as the others joined him, a shining light lit up the river, driving them to cover their eyes. But as soon as it occurred, it faded away. For a moment, all of the Pokémon were uncertain about what had just happened. Suddenly, a figure rose up from the lake, vaulting over the Charmeleon and Florges, then landing behind them.

"Rocky?" Rose questioned the figure. A Vaporeon lifted its head and diverted focus towards her.

"Rose!" he replied and bounded to the Leafeon, hugging her. During that time, Rose didn't recognize the voice that came out of her brother. The bystander Pokémon gaped in shock. An Eevee had plunged into a river and jumped out as a Vaporeon.

'"Look! Look!" Rocky exclaimed. "I evolved!" His brown markings had been replaced with a dark blue, contrasting against his light blue skin.

"What in the hell happened!?" the Charmeleon emitted.

"I think I touched a Water Stone when I fell in," answered the Water-type, surveying his new form.

Rose pouted. "Now I wanna evolve, dang it!"

The Florges wafted up next to Rose with a slight smile. "What do you want to be, child?" she asked with a subtle but noticeable accent.

The Eevee seemed mildly upset. "I've always wanted to be a Leafeon, but there were never any Moss Rocks or Leaf Stones around..."

"Yes, well, Miss Sylvey has a Leaf Stone in her possession if you would like to use it."

Rose's eyes widened. "Really!?" Without another word, she hurried off towards Nightfall.

Rocky flew after her. "Hey, wait up!"

The siblings arrived back at the pond in the following minutes, which was just as quiet as before. Some of the Pokémon moved were gathered next to a small, artificial waterfall. Amethyst was gone.

A few of them lifted their heads to see the siblings. Rocky nodded slightly as a greeting, as his sister padded up beside him, now a Leafeon. The Florges smiled softly.

Rocky sighed. "I think I should change my name," he expressed bluntly.

His sister glowered at him, one ear bending down. "What? That quickly?"
