Gerard was getting annoyed with Ray.
They had been talking on the stairs for quite some time now. The topic ranged from school to video games to pretty much anything. The problem was, Ray wouldn't stop talking, and Gerard didn't know how to end the conversation. Ray started rambling on again.
"You like DnD, Audrey Hepburn, Fangoria, Harry Houdini and croquet. You can't swim, you can't dance, and you don't know karate. Face it, you're never gonna make it."
Gerard took this as an opportunity to shut Ray up by talking and hopefully leaving.
"I don't wanna make it," he replied.
"I just wanna-"
"Hey guys!" Frank interrupted.
Gerard had been so concentrated on being annoyed with Ray that he didn't even notice Frank approach them. "What are you guys doing?" Frank asked energetically. He seemed surprisingly enthusiastic. Ray looked up from where he was sitting with Gerard. "Oh, nothing really. Just chatting."
For some odd reason, all of Gerard's temporary hatred towards Ray had disappeared. He wondered if it was because Frank was there. He didn't know why, but he always felt more relaxed and at ease whenever Frank was around. Gerard dismissed the thought and looked up at Frank.
"And what brings you here?" He asked. Franks eyes immediately lit up.
"I want to go play a song! Remember that one we wrote a while back, 'I'm Not Okay'?"
"Ah, yes. I'm up for it. How about you, Ray?"
Ray turned to face Gerard.
"Well I don't really have anything else to do, so why not?"
The boys got up and headed off to find Mikey and Bob, the two other members of their band, My Chemical Romance. As they were leaving, Frank couldn't help but smile to himself as he realized his plan was working perfectly. He was going to get everyone together, play the song for a bit, and then he would do it.
Today was finally the day that Frank would kiss Gerard.
