If Frank wasn't nervous before, he certainly was now.
At this point, he was so overwhelmed with nervousness that he didn't even know what he was worried about. Frank soon ran out of breath and sat down on the side of the street. This gave him time to think a bit while he caught his breath.
Why did he flee from Gerard's house?
Why couldn't he work up the courage to tell Gerard how he truly felt?
Why had he bottled up all his emotions only to have them explode when he least expected it?
Why was he afraid?
These questions filled Frank's mind until he couldn't take it any longer. He'd just about had enough when he heard a faint rumble of thunder in the distance. "I guess I have no choice but to go back home..." Frank mumbled to himself.
During the walk back to his house, Frank took the time to admire the stormy gray clouds as raindrops started to fall. He started intently at the newly-formed puddles that grew larger with every drop of rain. Frank enjoyed how the mud made a splash whenever he stepped in it. He simply adored the way the thunder made a booming sound whenever it roared through the sky. Before long, Frank had long since forgotten about his worries, let alone Gerard. He was keeping himself busy with watching the sky turn an even darker shade of gray when the first strike of lighting hit. At this point, Frank knew he had to get home before the weather got worse. So he hurried home, hoping that he could outrun the weather.
Upon arrival at his house, Frank sighed. His mother had already gone to bed, seeing as it was around 10:00 p.m. He hung up his damp jacket and took off his mud-soaked shoes. Frank sighed sadly and decided that he'd fix those later.
He walked to his bedroom where he put on an old t-shirt and some shorts and climbed into bed. His hair was completely soaked, but he didn't care. Just as Frank was about to fall asleep, his most dreaded thought crept into the back of his mind, slowly working its way up to make itself known. Before he knew it, all he could think about was Gerard. He simply couldn't help himself. He was hopelessly in love with him and it was something that couldn't be helped. But then his thoughts suddenly changed.
What was he to all the other members?
What was he worth?
Of course, everyone else was already known for something. Gerard, obviously, was the lead singer. Just that alone could get you an entire fanbase. Mikey was Gerard's brother, that adds a lot of popularity right there. Ray was known for his fabulous afro. And Bob, well, Bob was just something else. But what was Frank? All he was was just this short, little guy who couldn't even pass off as a real guitarist. He clearly wasn't needed. He was worthless. Unwanted.
So why was he still here? Then it hit him. Frank had the perfect idea to take his mind off of how useless he was. But more specifically, it would take his mind off of Gerard for quite a long time.
Frank was going to get a girlfriend.
