"Explain, and make it quick."
Frank and Gerard sat opposite to each other in the centre of the room. Frank's mind was all over the place as he hurriedly tried to explain why he'd kissed Gerard. He was heavily stuttering and his explanation was rushed and hard to understand.
"Well? That doesn't explain why you did it, Frank." Gerard said. He was obviously annoyed.
"Well, you see..." Frank just couldn't bring himself to do it. He couldn't just tell him. Frank lived in fear of being judged, and this was definitely one of the times when he was especially scared. What if Gerard didn't feel the same way? That would surely ruin their friendship. It would be awkward being best friends with someone who has a massive crush on you. No, Frank couldn't risk their friendship. Gerard waved a hand in front of Frank's face.
"Hello? Earth to Frank?"
Frank snapped back into reality.
"You gonna explain or not? Don't waste my time."
"I...uh..." Frank tried to speak, but the words just wouldn't come out. He simply couldn't do it. There was no way he'd be able to confess his love to Gerard.
"I... um... I think I-" Frank gave up. He couldn't finish his sentence. In a desperate attempt to make things less awkward, he sprinted for the open window and climbed out into the cold night.
"Wait! Frank!" Gerard called out. But it was too late. Frank was already gone.
