Chapter 21

Emma kept her eyes down and her hand clutching tightly to Thalia's. She tried to process the situation, I am trapped in the demon world and Diana is out of commission. The Demon Lord had plans for us, but what exactly was he aiming for? We could have been bait. We could have been revenge. She didn't know nor could she figure it out now. At least she was safe, or at least, she hoped she was safe.

The bunny demon led the apprentices to a room that practically screamed fantasy. Emma looked around in wonder, it was gorgeous. "Rest here for now. When 'Diana' is well again, we can discuss what to do."

Emma nods and Thalia says, "Thank you." The bunny demon curtsied and left, closing the door behind her.

Thalia flops down on the bed and sighs loudly. A moment later, Emma laid down beside her and noticed she had already fallen asleep. Emma giggles and moves her hair out of her face before taking her hand and falling asleep.

Diana leaned against the door and crossed her arms, observing the two sleeping girls. She watched as the ginger opened her eyes and looked at her hand that was holding her blonde friends. She sits up and looks towards the succubus next with those sparkling emerald eyes. "Did you have a good rest?" Diana asks her softly, not wanting to wake her friend.

She nods. "Are you okay?" She asks the succubus with her strange ability. Diana opens her mouth to reply but she shakes her head and taps her temple twice.

"Well, yes," Diana replied mentally, assuming that she can read her mind, "I'm fine now that I've had proper rest."

She smirks at me, "Yeah, 'rest'" She wiggles her brows at the succubus.

Diana rolled her eyes at the apprentice's antics. Diana stepped into the room, closing the door behind her. "So, we need to find another way to get the two of you back to the human world. It won't be easy, but I believe it can be done by tonight at the latest."

Her eyes widened in surprise, "Tonight? Really?"

Diana nodded and crossed my arms again, leaning into one hip, "It will take time to get our shadow agents to gather the necessary supplies, but they are not hard to obtain being we are in a position of power. You must be lucky."

"So what should I do until then?"

"My suggestion? Stay in this room. I can mark this room as off-limits so that no demon may enter that would confuse you for an intruder and kill you. However, I cannot stop you from whatever you wish to do. Just don't leave the castle." She nodded as Diana turned to leave. As she stepped out, she looked back at Thalia with a soft smile, "We'll get both of you back to the human world. I promise you that." The ginger smiles at her and she finally leaves the room. Now, where is Saero...?

After Diana left, Thalia carefully removed her hand from Emma's and stood up. She walked towards the door, opening it a crack and looking around. There was no one in the hall, but there were two directions to go. She bit her lip in thought before eventually choosing to go left. She closed the door behind her as she exited the room and began to make her way down the left corridor. Everything was definitely medieval style and she felt a bit small in the hall. It was like she was in a fairytale, walking around in a wedding dress. It felt almost dreamlike.

The passage seemed long, decorated with wall candles, paintings, and random curtains and flowers. It was mystical to see and she smiled. As she approached another fork in the hall however, she sighed. Really? How does anyone find their way around? She debated going back to her room but she shook her head. She chose to go left again and headed down the hall, greeted by more fantastical decor.
