Flame Inside ✿ Damien and Matthew

Chapter 23

Damien jumped through the tear and landed on a table. He was about to get up when one of his brothers fell on top of him, causing him to grunt. The other three add themselves to the pile soon after. They then begin to fall to one side, toppling off the table and landing on the floor.

"W-what the hell?!" asked the orc.

"Who are they?!" questioned the long-haired demon.

"Careful!" warned the bunny demon, "They could be the Demon Lord's men!"

At that statement, Damien heard a familiar giggle ring through the air, followed by another familiar voice shouting, "No!"

Damien stood up from the ground slowly and looked around the room. He saw four unfamiliar demons staring at him. He saw Thalia clinging to a guard with a spear, while laughing quietly to herself. She rests her forehead on the guard's chest while she tries to compose herself. Once she had stopped laughing, she removed her head from his chest and pushed down Saero's arm that was pointing a spear at Damien. "We know them." She states simply and Saero removed his arm from around her waist.

Damien looked beside him and saw that his brothers had finally stood up. Damien turned his gaze back to Thalia only to see the guard wrap his arm around Thalia's waist again. Damien looked up and saw another tear open, watching three women fall from the tear.

Mika screamed in surprise as Sam caught her, "I gotcha!"

Irene calls Erik's name as she falls into his arms, "Love! I've got you!"

Iridessa squeaks James' name as he catches her, "Whoa! Are you alright?" His brothers set their wives on the ground and Damien started walking towards Thalia. She forces herself out of the guards arms and rushes towards him.

They met halfway and she wrapped her arms around him tightly. He wrapped his arms around her and buried his face in her shoulder, "I'm so glad you're safe..." She tightened her hold on him and he returned it. As Thalia and Damien had their moment, his brothers, with the exception of Matthew who was having his own moment with Emma, stepped up near them, almost in a protective circle.

Sam, however, moved towards Diana, glaring hard, "You've got ten seconds to explain why they're here, bitch."

Thalia tensed up as she heard Sam's statement and pulled away from me, her face hardening, "Sam don't." She states coldly.

Diana then speaks in an indifferent tone, "I'm going to ignore that insult for the sake of the brides. However, I wasn't the one who brought them here."

Matthew glared at her, "You're such a terrible liar!"

"She's telling the truth." Thalia says simply. Damien looked at Thalia in surprise because she was standing up for the woman who tried to take him away from her. "She didn't bring us here. It was the Demon Lord."

"I beg your pardon?" James asks in surprise.

"Are you sure?" asks Sam apprehensively. The only response he got was a glare from Thalia for challenging what she said.

Unlike his brothers, Damien wasn't surprised by the information, he was angry. He pulled Thalia close to him, causing her to squeak in surprise, and look at Diana. Thalia looked at him worriedly, "Don't get mad at her, she had nothing to do with this." Thalia tells him gently.

"He wanted to lure you all back," Diana explained, "knowing that at least you two, Damien and Matthew, would chase after them and the others would follow. Obviously, his plan worked."

Damien flinched in surprise, feeling the weight of her words, but he gathered himself and spoke up again, "Well, thank you for keeping them safe. We'll be–"
