Chapter 31

Thalia woke up with Damien still in her arms. She smiled at the sight of his sleeping face. He seemed at peace, finally getting proper rest. She ran her fingers through Damien's hair, becoming lost in thought evaluating everything that has happened in the past three days. She was broken out of her thoughts by Damien nuzzling her shoulder in his sleep. She looked down at him and smiled.

Thalia saw movement from the corner of her eye, causing her to glance in that direction. She saw Diana in the doorway, holding two plates of food and leaning against the doorframe. Thalia smiled at her in greeting as she placed a finger to her lips before walking over and gently placing the food she brought onto the table near the bed, being careful not to make noise. Damien seemed to cuddle closer, despite obviously smelling the food by the wiggle of his nose. She melted at the sight and let out a small squeak because of how adorable he is. Thalia grinned and nodded to Diana, combing her fingers through Damien's hair as Diana crossed her arms and watched, opening her mouth to speak. She stopped when Thalia tapped her temple, reminding the succubus of her powers.

"You seem to be in a good mood." Thalia heard her think.

Thalia nodded, looking up at the succubus as she gently gave Damien a squeeze, "Yeah. Damien got some sleep, which is what he needed..." She took a moment to look down at Damien's sleeping face, seeing how innocent and peaceful it was, "...and he's just too damn cute."

This caused Diana to chuckle quietly before asking, "Have you given him any energy?" Thalia shook her head, not remembering at all ever giving him energy. Whether he took in their sleep was something she would be unaware of, so she could only assume that he had not taken any from her at all. Diana pressed her lip together before looking to Damien, "You'll need to feed him energy soon."

"I know..."

Diana nodded in reply before turning on her heel and walking to the door. Before crossing the threshold, she turned to look at me over her shoulder. "I'm... curious about something..." She muttered.

Thalia raised a brow at her, "What is it?"

She hesitated a moment before asking, "If he could become a human, how would you feel? Would you let him?"

Thalia furrowed her brows in thought. As much as she loved him being a demon, she knew that the thing he wanted more than anything was to be human. All she wanted was for him to be happy, so if being human made him happy, she understood. "He wants to be human." Thalia replied, "If being human makes him happy, then I'm happy."

She looks at Thalia for a moment before nodding in acknowledgement and saying, "Well I have to go check in on Emma. I'll see you later, I'm sure." Thalia nods, watching as she leaves the room, closing the door behind her.

Looking down at Damien's sleeping form, he had turned his head slightly in his sleep so she could only see the top of his head. She smiled slightly and kissed the top of his head, causing him to stir a bit in her arms. At the end of it all, she wanted what was best for him and she could care less if he were a demon. She loved him for who he is, not for what he is, so if he wants to be human, she'd be okay with that. After all, she did promise him that they'd find a way to make him human.

Damien gently squeezed her form, allowing Thalia to take in that he was awake now, and looked at her with tired eyes. He lets out a content hum before saying, "Good morning..."

Thalia couldn't help but smile at his expression. He was an early bird, but on the rare occasion where she caught him more entranced in sleep than her were moments she found so adorable. "Good morning, sleepyhead." She said with a short giggle.
