Akeno and Y/n both sat at the table inside the old shrine that now served as Akeno's home. Across from them was a woman that could effectively be described as Akeno's double.

Suzaku Himejima. Akeno's cousin and the current head of the Himejima clan.

Y/n: "I'm seeing a difference here already. She's predominantly red while you're predominantly horny, Akeno."

Akeno: "I would say not the time, but it's good to have some kind of casual air."

Suzaku: "Akeno. Before we begin, may I ask who this is?"

Akeno: "O- Oh. This is Y/n Rhy-"

Y/n: "No need to hide it. Name's Y/n Lucifer."

Suzaku's eyes widened in surprise. She was looking at a legitimate descendant of the original king of the underworld.

Suzaku: "W- Why is the descendant of Lucifer here?"

Y/n: "I promised I'd be here for her. So I'm keeping that promise."

Akeno smiled as Y/n spoke. Suzaku noticed, but chose not to bring it up.

Akeno: "So why have you come, Suzaku?"

Suzaku: "Simple, Akeno. I wish to welcome you back into the Himejima clan."

Akeno's eyes widened as Suzaku said those words.

Suzaku: "I wished no ill intent in my message. I hope it didn't come across that way."

Y/n: "I get it now. You didn't support your clan's actions in killing Shuri and driving Akeno away. But due to your position you had to keep up appearances."

Suzaku: "Exactly. I must admit, I still deeply regret my inaction. But as the current head of the clan, I am using my influence to move away from the old ways of the Himejima clan. I don't want there to be a void just because one of us is a fallen angel."

Akeno: "I- isn't that risky though?"

Suzaku: "I was chosen by the vermillion bird. There are none in the clan that could harm me even if they tried."

Y/n: "I bet Igni could do a number on her though."

Igni: "Just say the fuckin' word."

Y/n smirked to himself for a moment when Suzaku turned to him.

Suzaku: "If you promised to be here during this, then can I assume that you and Akeno are together?"

Akeno blushed a brilliant red colour while Y/n just smirked.

Y/n: "That's all down to Akeno. I know what it's like to feel alone like she does. As such, I want to be here for her whenever she needs me. And before you make a joke about it, I do mean I'll be here for anything."

Suzaku: "... You're quite lucky, Akeno."

Akeno looked over at her cousin in surprise.

Suzaku: "It seems you've found good company since joining Rias Gremory."
