With a challenging look on his face, John let himself fall onto the chair at Jacobs desk. Playfully, he picked up the fork and began to shove some food into his mouth before pointing the fork at his brother and smiling again.

"You know, Jacob...", he mumbled, his mouth still half full with food. "Out of all the people in our little circle, I would have expected you to be the last to break. Always so disciplined and proper. Now look at you. Rolling around with something like this."

John pointed at you, wiggling his eyebrows.

Jacob growled, showing his brother his teeth.

"Why are you here?", he asked, impatient. "I've got shit to do."

Johns eyebrows rose.

"Oh? With things to do, do you mean do this one?", he stretched his neck to check if he was able to steal another glance of you. "Looks okay."

Jacobs lips twitched. A sound escaped him that surprised himself. It was something between anger and frustration.

It wasn't unusual that he lost his temper with his little brothers sometimes. But it was especially hard to keep calm when the youngest was around. Joseph was a strange kind of person as well but at least he had some sort of decency and knew when to be serious.

John, on the other hand, was a completely different story.

He was never serious, always grinned and acted as if he was able to charm the world. He was a bit selfish from time to time, only to turn into a child filled with fear whenever Joseph threatened to banish him from Eden's gate.

"John.", Jacob snatched the fork out of his brothers hand. "You didn't come here to mock me or eat my food, did you?"

John swallowed the last bite he had in his mouth.

"Obviously. I want something in return."

"In return for what?"

"My silence, of course. As your lawyer I want to tell you that nothing comes without a price. Silence is especially valuable.", he grinned.

Jacob raised an eyebrow, sceptical.

"With what would you be able to threaten me?", Jacob crossed his arms in front of his chest. "You have nothing against me. And why try to blackmail me in the first place?"

"I have a lot to threaten you with. This one is a big deal, by the way. I mean, I understand you want some company, but having a partner. Well... Joseph won't like that. Especially not when it's somebody who isn't loyal. And new."

Jacob rolled his eyes.

"Ain't a partner, John. I'm not fucking anybody and this...", he pointed behind him. "This is just a minor inconvenience. I'll take care of it."

"Too late for that. This one is already in your bed. Doesn't look good for you, brother."

Biting his lips and restraining himself from screaming at his youngest brother, Jacob took a deep breath.

"John.", he walked up to John and stopped right in front of him. "I'm serious. What do you want?"

A smirk appeared on johns lips. It was a playful smirk, with the hint of evil that was so common to be seen in his eyes and his actions. Out of all the Seed siblings, John was the worst one. Even Joseph said so multiple times.

However, Jacob tried to ignore it just like many other things about the rest of his family. He loved John dearly and knew that he needed a bit of guidance. Or a cage to keep him calm. Either way, Jacob would never come to hate or hurt his little brother.

But even he had to admit that John's mood swings were a pain in the ass. They came without announcement and always happened to be some weird shit that nobody knew how to deal with. Most of the time it was easier to just go with it.

But in that moment the thought made Jacob's stomach turn. He didn't want to bow to John's mood. It might would have put you into great danger.

"I'm serious too, Jacob.", John patted his brothers shoulder before throwing another quick glance at you. "Oho. Not as bad as I expected it to be. Your taste, I mean. This one doesn't look too bad. I mean it."

Jacob pulled a face.

"No more comments about this. Tell me what you want. Now."

"Hm. Fine, I see today is not a good day to look for your humour. Anyways, it's actually pretty simple. I want your place."

Surprised, Jacob frowned.

"You want to lead the army of Eden's gate?", he asked, visibly confused.

But John was quick to deny that.

"Oh no, absolutely not. That would be a nightmare.", he gifted Jacob another smirk. "Your place next to Joseph. I want to be there when things go down, I don't want to be left out. If you give me position number two I will make sure that your dirty little secret is safe with me. Huh? How does that sound?"

For a moment, Jacob's eyes jumped over John's face, trying to find an explanation. He tilted his head and made an expression that demanded for an answer, but John just grinned and shook his head.

"You know exactly what I mean.", said John.

"Be more specific.", Jacob demanded.

John leaned forward in his chair.

"Joseph tells me that the Gates of Eden might shut me out. He does that time and time again.", John's voice was shaking and his eyes a bit watery. "And all this just because of a stupid deputy. I want to go to Eden, Jacob. I want to see it with my own two eyes. You don't believe in what Joseph preaches anyways. Just give me your place and I'll be satisfied."

Jacob pulled a face, but couldn't deny the claims.

"It's not that I don't believe in what Joseph says. I'm just not entirely sure.", quickly, he threw a gaze over his shoulder to check on you. "But fine. You can have my place in the bunker. But keep your mouth shut in exchange. Deal?"

Jacob offered his brother a hand which he gladly took with a broad smile on his face.

"I already forgot why I was here for in the first place.", John purred. "It's always a pleasure to meet up with you, brother."

Jacob shook his head, a grim expression on his face.

"Now get lost. I've got things to take care of.", he growled.
