"I'm afraid of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my life the way I feel when I'm with you." -Baby

Today would be the day I would meet Josh's extended family for the first time, and between that and wrapping my head around getting accepted to MSM, I didn't know how I would make it through the day.

"It's not that serious, Lex. It's just his grandma and aunts" Emily laughed, buttoning her jeans.

"Em.. you and Sam are 14, of course you're not worried about it. Josh and I are 18, they're going to consider us-" I began, turning towards her in my bed.

"Don't even! Just because Sam and I are young, doesn't mean we aren't in a real relationship!" she crossed her arms, standing at the end of my bed.

"Okay, okay! But still, have some sympathy!" I giggled, throwing one of my pillows at her. I still hadn't told anyone, except my mom, that I was accepted and I hid the note in a shoe box at the top shelf of my closet, still unsure on what I would actually do about it.

"Girls! I'm heading over now," my mom called from downstairs, my sister and Luke were still going strong, and she actually went back to Australia with him to meet his family for the week.

"Let's go if we're going, idiot!" Emily laughed, throwing my pillow back at me. I stood up laughing back at her, putting my pillow back on my bed and taking a quick look in the mirror before I walked out of my room.

"About time my own girlfriend showed up!" Josh chuckled, standing from his spot around a group of intimidating looking adults and walking towards me. "Everyone, meet Lex!" he turned to face all of them as he wrapped his arm around my waist.

"Oh, Lex- it's so nice to finally meet you! I have heard so many things about you. I'm Josh's grandma!" a lady sitting to the right of Josh said, putting her hand out to me and I shook it politely while giving her a soft smile. "Nice to meet you too."

"Whenever Lex isn't around, we never hear the end of it from Josh" Karen laughed, sitting up in her seat.

"Well do you blame him, Karen? I mean look at her!" his grandma smiled and motioned towards me, "now you're Audrey's daughter? I can tell.. spitting image!" she laughed while taking a drink.

"I get that a lot," I giggled, while adjusting next to Josh as he continued to introduce me to the rest of his family that was at his and Jake's grad party.

It felt like there were multiple occasions to talk to Josh about the whole college situation, but I didn't want to ruin his party- nor his plans for me to go with them on tour, so I shook it off until my mom walked up to me and pulled me off to the side.

"You really need to tell him, Lex" my mom frowned.

"Mom, I don't even know if I'm going yet-" I said quietly, looking down at my cup of punch.

"Excuse me? Honey, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, who says you will get another go!"

"I know- but I love Josh, I can't leave him. Not now," I sighed, looking from Josh as he smiled and joked with his friends.

"Lex.. did I ever tell you about your father and I? How he and I were high school sweethearts too, and your dad left me to go to school and when he came back it's like no time had passed.." my mom gave me a soft reassuring smile while rubbing my arm.

"Yeah but- where's dad now? I know that has nothing to do with what happened then-" I said, looking at my mother, watching her expression fade into heartbreak, I didn't want to bring that up because I know how touchy of a subject it is, but I had to prove my point.
