"I do think of John everyday, I do try to block it. but December 8th isn't the only day I think of him." -Yoko Ono-
The play was drawing closer and closer, the week had just washed right by. I was confident enough, with the amount Josh and I had practiced, that opening night would be great. I didn't think a couple months ago, I would be so excited about this; or at all actually.
"Hey, a bunch of us are going out tonight to celebrate tomorrow's opening night, if you want to come!" Emily smiled, catching up to me in the hallway.
"Em, you aren't even in the play.." I giggled, opening my locker.
"I am part of the crew, silly, still counts!" she smiled, leaning against the locker beside mine.
"Well yeah, I'm going. Josh already invited me, anyway" I smiled, thinking about being with Josh last night when he asked me to go.
"Oh did he now?" she smirked and laughed. I just shook my head and smiled.
"Karaoke was never my thing, but if-" before I could finish, Emily interrupted me.
"If Josh is coming... you couldn't pass it up, huh?" She nudged me and smiled.
"Emily!" I sighed while giggling, I rounded the corner to be met by Josh and my smile grew bigger.
"Hi, beautiful" he smiled, and looked over at Emily and said hello to her to which she just smiled and walked away, leaving us alone.
"Hi, handsome.." I giggled, looking down and back up tightening my grip on my books in my arms.
"Pick you up at 7?" he smiled as we walked down the hallway together.
I nodded and smiled, not saying a word.
"Good," he grinned, kissing my cheek and walking away. I again got that warm feeling in my stomach and felt that heat rush to my face, looking down to hide it.
"What's got you all flustered?" Ronnie giggled as I sat beside her.
I wanted to tell her so badly it was, in fact, her older brother, but I felt that was a little too much information.
"Nothing.." I sighed as I set down my books, and hesitantly looked over to her with a small smile.

7 o'clock sharp, there was a knock on the door as I came down the stairs. Of course, classically, my dad answered the door. He adjusted his posture to seem bigger for some ungodly masculine reason, and Josh nodded at him with a smile.
"I'm Josh," he smiled, and put his hand out to shake my dad's.
"Okay, enough of that," I said, walking in front of my dad and turning Josh around to walk away.
"She better be home by 1030 Joshua!" my father shouted from the door.
"You've got it, sir!" Josh turned and yelled back as he walked backwards beside me.
I sighed and shook my head, "how embarrassing.."
"Aw, what? He is just being protective of his little girl.." he winked and wrapped his arm around my shoulders.
"Ew, stop.." I giggled and shook my head. He laughed in return and we got into his car to head to the karaoke place.

"Lex! Josh! About time!" Emily laughed, as she say beside Sam at a booth; with Danny, Jake and my sister?
"Ashleigh?" I questioned, sitting down in the booth across from her.
