"hello y/n." an unfamiliar voice spoke.
"who are you?" you asked slowly walking over towards the hooded figure which stood with its back facing you.
the figure turned around and you gasped in shock as you saw it's dimly lit but horrifying face, or what was left of it.
"i am here to train you."
"what is your name?" you asked.
"demetree, and judging by your reaction your dad has obviously never introduced you to one of his friends because otherwise you wouldn't be fazed by well.... this" he said gesturing to a little over half of his face that was burned almost completely off.
"my father doesn't have friends. he says friends only get in the way."
"is that so?" he said and put his hands on his knees to see straight and level into your eyes, "y/n i think we're going to be very, very good friends" he said with a smile.
"i don't need friends, nor do i want any" you said with a huff and looked away, although you knew that wasn't true. but you also knew anyone you got attached to could be a bargain chip to your father.
"y/n, your literally six shut up. you are so easily manipulated by your father-" he said but you cut him off "i am not! excuse you" you scofffed.
"look y/n i'm only doing this for him because i owe him a favor, now quit interrupting me and denying the obvious truth and making this damn job harder than it needs to be."
you rolled your eyes "i hate him. i'll do anything to make his life as miserable as it could possibly be. but fine i guess, for now let's just get on to this training stuff or whatever."
he nodded and was about to speak when you cut him off, "actually i have a question how did that happen" you said gesturing towards his face.
he rolled his eyes at you, "another story another time we need to start training" he said. "fine."
"okay well actually for now we are more so testing than training, i need to see your new enhanced skills at work and pinpoint what exactly it was you gained from the serum. no doubt it will be more than one enhancement because of the four different viles that were emptied into your body. but, however i need to find out what kind of abilities you have now so i can help train you to use it to your fullest ability if that makes sense to you."
"i'm sorry, four different viles? no no, it was five, my father told me he injected me with the fifth when i was sleeping."
"he told you that you had to be awake in order to receive them, correct?" he said and waited for your response
you nodded and started, "but-" and then demetree cut you off
"but nothing kid. what makes you think that if you had to be awake for the others that you wouldn't have to be awake for the fifth one. the reason he didn't give it to you was because it would've killed you. that's just how powerful it is. he has to wait until you're older and stronger. and it also proves my point about you being easily manipulated."
"why would he lie then?" you asked and looked down but you already knew the reason why, you just wanted any other reason.
demetree shrugged and then sighed he gestured to a small desk in the room with chairs on either side and you both walked over to it.
he pulled your chair out for you and you sat down with a confused look, 'why is he being so nice?' you thought
"okay now to get started, there is two glasses filled with water on the table. i want you to put this leaf on top of the water of the glass that is completely full" demetree said.
he handed you the leaf and you gently placed it on the water, trying to be careful not to spill as it was on the verge of spilling out.
"what now?" you asked and looked over at him.
"hover your hands over the side of the same glass and close your eyes" he said and you did exactly what he told you and waited for further instructions.
"now you need to think about the leaf, and think about the other glass that is full of water. this one is about to spill, the other one is only half full. i need you to try and think about moving the leaf to the other glass, but not with your hands, with your mind" demetree said looking hopeful towards you.
you opened your eyes to look at him "with my mind?! that's impossible."
"not anymore y/n, remember, the serums. now please try it."
you looked at the other glass hopefully and then focused hard on the leaf in front of you.
'move' you said to the leaf in your mind, it didn't move.
'move god damnit! please move, move to the other glass please'
your looked down to your fingertips which had emitted a black glowing substance and you looked back to the leaf which began to be encased with the same black substance. you focused hard 'move to the other glass' you said and the leaf rose out of the water and moved to the other glass, still encased with the black substance.
you smiled and looked back up to demetree who looked over at you and nodded.
your smile dropped into a frown "aren't you impressed?" you said with a small bit of hope in your voice.
"i am! good job."
"it doesn't look like you are though..."
"well what did you want me to do? jump and down and yell 'oOoOh y/n you're so amazing wow!' is that what you want?" he said with a laugh and you looked away shyly.
he walked over to you and patted your shoulder and you smiled up at him as you leaned back in your chair.
"this ability is called telekinesis. it means you can move objects with your mind."
"telekinesis" you repeated, "what else do i have?" you looked up at him with small excitement.
"that we will find out another time, for now focus on moving the leaf places. i will go get other objects for you to move."
