y/n awoke to a loud knocking on her door, she rose from her bed immediately and went to open it.

demetree was on the other side, preparing to knock again when he looked down at the small girl, "good morning y/n, did you sleep well?" he asked.

she nodded with a yawn, "is it time for training?" she said looking out to the balcony doors seeing the sun had already risen and it was quite bright outside.

"well yes but i argued with your father that breakfast needed to come first, so hurry up and get changed so we can get to it" demetree replied.

y/n closed the door and got changed, when she finished she opened the door and walked with demetree to have breakfast.

her eyes lit up ever so slightly when she saw the breakfast of many varieties of fruits, all cut up nicely and placed on a beautifully decorated plate.

"hurry up and eat it y/n. we don't have all day and i do believe i prepared a lot more than your father had wanted" demetree said with a small smile as he watched her gobble down her food, "okay well don't eat so fast that you choke" he chuckled.

when y/n was finished she had turned around and followed demetree to the training room.

it was set up with all types of fancy plates and bowls, and then she noticed her father sitting in a chair at the desk inside.

she hesitated to take another step into the room but quickly made the decision to go in anyway.

"morning father" she said monotonously to which he nodded im response.

demetree left the room and closed the door when y/n sat on the chair in front of the desk and most importantly her father.

"take a look around, my y/n" he said gesturing to the room decorated with all the fancy plates and bowls, she did as told and when she finished looking around she turned her attention back on her father.

"these dishes have been around for hundreds of thousands of years. they have been passed down by my birth givers and their ancestors and given to me. you are to use them to practice, and if you break one, you will be punished" he said.

y/n nodded and focused on a plate to her left, she focused on trying to use her powers to bring it and place it on the desk in front of her father, halfway however she had concentrated   to hard and the plate shattered in mid-air.

she winced and turned to look at her father who was shaking his head slightly and writing on a paper.

deciding to ignore that mistake for the moment, y/n continued in her practice and focused on a different plate. it made more progress in distance than the last plate, but had shattered over the edge of the desk.

y/n took a mental note of the second mistake as what she saw from her peripheral vision was her father writing down another mistake.

she continued the whole time and after all the trial and error she had managed to stack quite a few plates and bowls, not nearly as many as she had broken though.

everywhere around the room were shattered dishes that were once beautiful pieces of work.

she turned herself to face her father, she then realized he was no longer in his chair but beside her and before she could register anything he smacked her face.

"how could you be so careless" he hissed, "did i not tell you that these have been passed down from generations?"

y/n nodded, "sorry father-" she started but was cut off by another smack to the face.

"sorry? is you being sorry gonna change anything? is you being sorry gonna being your mother back?" he yelled.

she stood up and whipped her face to look at him, "what? what do you mean? being mom back? where did she go?" y/n asked with a hint of worry in her voice.

her father took a step away from her, "it's all your fault. if you would've just listened to me all those times this never would've happened. she was so worried about our relationship as you being my daughter and i being your father, that she caused her body to go into shock from all the stress and she died from it. all because of you" he said with every ounce of hatred he could put on display.

tears pricked at her eyes, "she.. she's really dead?" she asked

he looked away to the side and nodded, "this... all of what i'm doing right now, this is all for you. because i care about you y/n, i really do. she never cared about you, she truly deep down had hated you. she said you were the one thing she ever regretted in her life. i know about all the times that you went to your mother for comfort and her so called 'love' but the truth is she hated you because she was jealous of me caring more about you. finally she saw that you and i were drifting, and she knew my love for her was not as strong as it used to be, so she tried to bring us together in her last moments so that our marriage wouldn't have been completely pointless, in all this stress is what led to her death as she saw your hatred for me" he said emotionlessly.

y/n took a step back, blinking her eyes rapidly, trying to comprehend all the information she was just told.

her mother, the only person who had ever loved her or shown any sort of care for her was dead and she found that she never truly did any of those actions because she meant it, but because she was forcing herself to.

"i'm sorry.." little y/n said in a broken whisper.

"sorry does not fix anything. you must be disciplined, and i believe pain is the best discipline" he said, "although it truly does hurt me to discipline you, it is my duty as your father" he quickly added.

she closed her eyes and nodded as she heard his footsteps drawing nearer to her, he hit her, again and again.

when she felt like crying during the painful process, she remembered that she deserved it because she had caused the death of her mother. that such horrible creatures such as herself need to be punished.

with that mentality, she took the beatings. one hit for every dish she broke, which unfortunately for her was many.

when the heating had been finished her father had turned completely away from her at that moment, his front facing the door and his back facing her.

he didn't say anything as he walked out of the room, leaving her broken body to lie on the ground.

when he closed the door behind him, he wiped his lips and smirked, "kids. so easy to fool, or it would seem i have become a better actor" he said with a smirk and a dark chuckle.
