Rufus called Bobby, saying something about being in River Pass, Colorado and how the whole town was infested with demons. So we left Bobby behind to go see if we could help in any way. When we arrived, the bridge into town was caved in so the only way to get into the town was to walk. Dean got a bag of supplies out of the trunk of the Impala before we began the slow hike. It was like a ghost town. All the shops lining the streets were empty and abandoned. Cars were left, some still with their engines running in the middle of the street, others overturned. A bike was on its side on the sidewalk, front wheel still turning.

As we ventured further, we came across a cherry red mustang. Sam lost interest when he realized it was just as empty as the rest of the town, but Dean and I paused to admire it a moment longer. A silver four-door sat with the driver's door open. A baby stroller sat next to it with a large amount of blood in front of and leading away from it and my heart dropped in my chest, feeling nauseous.

The boys moved on ahead of me, not noticing that I'd stopped to throw up and pretty soon I couldn't see where they'd gone.

"Dean?" I called. "Sammy?"

I yelped as someone grabbed me from behind.

"Ellie?"

"Jo?"

The grip on my loosened and I turned to see Rufus behind me.

"Rufus? What the hell?"

"You look like crap," Jo told me.

"Thanks," I rolled my eyes. "What happened here?"

I froze as something wet splashed me in the face and I closed my eyes, spitting out a little stream of the holy water before wiping it off.

"I'm me," I grumbled.

Rufus didn't reply, just pushing past me to continue on his journey. Jo rolled her eyes, looping her arm through mine and heading after him.

"Is your mom here?" I asked her while we walked.

"Somewhere," she nodded. "We got separated pretty early on. Luckily, I found Rufus and we've been trying to find her and any others that haven't been possessed yet. Did I hear you calling for Sam and Dean?"

"Yeah. I came here with them, but we also got separated."

We got to a house where Jo and Rufus were squatting in. There were a few others also staying at the house, and Jo introduced me to some of them. A while later, after some more catching up, Sam and Ellen showed up, both sporting black eyes. Ellen got away, but Rufus managed to nab Sam. The weird thing is, nothing worked on him- salt, holy water, none of it. Sam was yelling, trying to point out how strange the situation was, and I was inclined to agree with him, though Rufus and Jo wouldn't listen.

I waited until Sam was alone, but when I approached the room he was tied up in, I heard someone already talking to him.

"So, the Roger everyone around here knows, the real Roger?" Sam asked.

"Buried in a ditch," the foreign voice answered.

There was a beat, and then Sam spoke again.

"So who are you?"

"Here's a hint. I was in Germany. Then in Germany. Then in the Middle East. I was in Darfur when my beeper went off. I'm waiting to hook up with my siblings. I've got three. We're going to have so much fun together."

"I know who you are," Sam said, as I made the connection as well. "There aren't any demons in town, are there?"

"Nope," War confirmed. "Just frightened people ripping each other's throats out. I really haven't had to do much. Take out a bridge here, lay in a little hallucination there, sit back, pop some corn, watch the show. Frankly, you're really viscous little animals, Sam."

"No. You're doing this."

"Please. Last week, this was Mayberry. Now these people are stabbing each other's children."

"Cause you made them see demons!"

"Honestly, people don't need a reason to kill each other. I mean, you seen the Irish? They're all Irish... You think I'm a monster. I'm jello shots at a party. I just remove inhibitions."

"I'm gonna kill you myself."

War laughed at Sam, and I glanced in briefly. War had his back to me, and I saw Sam's eyes flicker to mine for just a second before looking back at the Horseman in front of him. It was short enough, that War didn't notice it happen.

"Oh, that's adorable, considering you're my poster boy."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Sam snapped.

"You can't stop thinking about it, ever since you saw it dripping off the blade of that knife."

"You're wrong."

"Save your protests for your brother and his girl. I can see inside your head. And man, it is one-track city up there. Blood, blood, blood. Lust for power. Same as always. You want to be strong again. But not just strong. Stronger than everybody. Good intentions- quick slide to Hell, buddy boy. You feel bad now? Wait till you're thigh deep in warm corpses. Because, my friend, I'm just getting started."

I peeked in to see War straighten up and put on a pair of glasses.

"Showtime for the meatsuits. Watch this."

He twisted a ring on one of his fingers, and then kicked over his chair and started screaming. Jo and Rufus immediately rushed past me into the room.

"Guys, wait!" I cried.

"He did it!" War shouted, pointing at Sam.

His forehead was bleeding.

"No!" Sam and I chorused.

"He said they're coming!" War continued. "He said they're coming to get us!"

Rufus and Jo advanced on Sam while War slipped quietly toward the door. As he did, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me with him. He dragged me behind him until we reached a church.

"Say one word, and I'll make them kill you," he hissed at me before pounding against a door. "Open up! It's Roger!"

The door opened and he dragged me inside.

"Ellie!" Dean cried.

"I saw the demons!" War said before I could open my mouth. "I managed to get her away from them. They know we're trying to leave. They said they're going to pick us off one by one."

"Wait, wait, wait. What?" Dean asked, looking from War to me and back.

"I thought you said there were no demons," someone hissed at Dean.

"There's not. Where did you go?"

"I thought someone should go out and see what's going on!"

"Where did you see the demons and what did they say exactly?"

"We just sit here, we're going to be dead," the same man tried reasoning with Dean.

Dean shook his head, looking at him.

"No, we're not!" he insisted.

"They're gonna kill us unless we kill them first," War continued.

"Hold on. Hold on."

"No, man, we got people to protect. Alright, the able-bodied go hunt some demons."

The man picked up a shotgun, handing it to another young man.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow your roll," Dean reasoned. "This is not a demon thing!"

War winked at me, twisting his ring again and pointing at me, Dean and Ellen.

"Look at their eyes! They're demons!"

A pregnant woman gasped and a pastor raised his shotgun to point at the three of us. We all turned, bolting for the door as one of the guns went off.

"Move!" Dean yelled, shoving me ahead of him.
