I jolted up when I heard Jay's mom scream. I looked at Jay and he nodded at me and we both booked it to the window. But once jay had jumped his door bust opened and a dark skinned man stood there looking angry. I then climbed out the window and into the bush below. As soon I do the man was looking through the window and was cursing loudly into the night sky.
I hurried out the bush and towards Jay car. While doing that I see Jay's brother running out the door with their mom with a smirk on his face. I smile as I shake my head knowing he probably did something. I then climbed into the car and put my seatbelt on knowing what's finna happen now. He looked at me and scanned my whole body before he took off after his mother.
I then started laughing outta now where feeling happy due to the adrenalin rush. And to be honest, it was a good feeling to have right about now. A real good one but for real, for real, I'm tired and drained from the days events but I know I couldn't go to sleep after what happened. I sigh and looked out the window knowing all to well were we're going.
Jay: "Dae?" He called out.
Dae: "Yea, Jay?" I say not looking away from the window.
Jay: "......Never mind." He said which caused me to look at him confusingly.
But before I could ask him what was wrong his phone rang. We both looked at the radio and it showed his girlfriend calling him. I rolled my eyes and went back to minding my business. I heard Jay mumble something under his breath but didn't say anything to start an argument right now. I then heard him click the screen to answer the call and then her voice came on the car speakers.
Aubrie: "So have you thought about my offer?" She said oblivious to me being in the car.
Jay: "Did you not hear what the fuck I said earlier no. Want me to say it in spanish. No. Now leave me the fuck alone." He said sounding irritated as hell.
Aubrie: "But Jay, we haven't hung out since Nahmir got taken to the hideout. Come on baby, why can't we hang out. I miss you!" She said whining causing me to roll my eyes again.
Jay: "Actually, ya know what sure. I need to tell you something anyways, you free tomorrow??" He asked looking at me as I gave him the stank face.
Aubrie: "I am actually." She said sounding like she was smiling on the other side.
Jay: "Ight meet me at the mall by the food court." He said
Aubrie: "Ight, I'll see you tomorrow babe. I love you!" She said
Jay: "Hn." He said and then hung up the phone.
I looked at him with a raised eyebrow. He looked at me for a brief moment before he said anything.
Jay: "You coming too. no if, ands, or buts. Ight?" He said as if he was giving a demand but in a soft tone.
Cordae: "Why? Ion wanna go." I say kinda whinny.
Jay: "Cause, I wanna show her who I actually love. Who I actually care for, want to be with. Who I will call my husband one day. My everything, the person I finally realized I actually wanna be with. My baby boy." He said making me blush.
