Straight after school, Justin, Eddie and I all met up, as always on the pier, to eat chips and look in shops, there was one shop we went in every single day. They sold all sorts of things, mainly souveniers, I liked to buy these special little bracelets from there, leather ones the man in must have sold hundreds to me over the course of only a year, I had a massive collection and always wore like five each day to school. The boys were always on at me when I wanted to buy another one, the man called them friendship bracelets. But I never had anyone to share them with. Which saddened me a little bit, but it's not that I didn't have friends. I wanted someone special to have the matching bracelet. Someone where it would have meaning. Anyways, we were on the pier, hanging around near Shells (the shop) It was 4:00 and almost time for my surfing lesson. I had one every Tuesday and every Saturday morning in the summer and spring. I was training for the annual regional competition. I have won 1st place once and 2nd place twice in the whole 6 years I'd been doing surfing. It was a tough competition and to win you had to train loads with fitness and the whole lot. But anyway, my lesson was in half an hour, so I walked down onto the beach to get in my wetsuit and stuff. "I've have to go, otherwise Josh is gonna be mad." Josh was my instructor, he was cool normally but being late was one of his pet hates. Especially when it was near to regionals. I ran down to the middle of the pier, which wasn't stuck out in to the sea , but there was an odd set of steps that lead down onto the beach. I trotted down them and onto the sand, I could spot Josh from a mile away He beamed at me and shouted "Beau, my favourite student! How's you?" I nodded and walked over to the hut where the equipment was kept. "I'm good. And you." He pulled out my wetsuit from the collection, you knew it was mine because it had red down the sides of the body. "I'm great." He smiled. I unzipped the wetsuit and took it along the beach to my family's hut at the end, that's where I kept my board aswell. I unlocked the padlock on the door, I always kept a spare key in my pocket, and walked inside. I took off my school uniform and slipped into my wetsuit instead, I grabbed my board and ran back out, locking the door behind me.
