Another day, another surf lesson. But this time it was actually my training session, but I'll start at the end, because you don't want to know about my lesson.

I walked out of the sea and grabbed a towel from an unused deck chair, (I didn't steal someones towel, I had placed my towel there previously) I started drying myself off. "Brilliant, that was an awesome sesh li'l bro. How about we get out to the beach early before the families get here yeah? I jus want you to try that last one again please." I sighed and dropped the towel back on the chair, the session was supposed to finish half an hour ago, but we were working with Josh time here. I paddled back into the sea and got onto my board, I pulled my left foot up, I was about to pull my right up when something bit me, or stung me or I had trodden on something, either way. I had hurt my foot, I screamed loudly and the lifeguard blew his whistle, children around me started fleeing the water as I sat in the shallows holding my foot, cradling it gently whilst my board floated away. Josh ran in and grabbed my board, he didn't want it drifting out to sea, it was an expensive one. The lifeguard ran to where I was sitting and picked me up, it was a little shocking that he could actually carry a boy of 50.8 kilograms. But he did, he took me to his hut, I felt like passing out. The pain in my foot was so overwhleming. He sat me down on a bed and started inspecting my foot, Josh came in slowly and quietly, so as not to shock me. "What are we looking at here?" Josh said to the lifeguard, the lifeguard's name was Chris,  he was young and all the girls on the beach fancied him, he was really  nice though. He grabbed a long thin strip of bandage from a shelf and put it down next to the bed. "Weever fish I think. And a serious one too." I had heard those words before, it's what stopped Lenny Gray competing in junior regionals last year, I wouldn't let this stop me. Chris grabbed a bottle of antiseptic and dabbed it over the wound. "It'll be okay after a week or so, but you won't be able to surf for at least two weeks. Even if you wanted to, but it's not like you would want to after that." He put down the bottle and started winding the bandage around my foot. "No no, I'm sorry that's not possible." Josh said, starting to panick. Chris looked at Josh, and Josh looked at Chris. "He's my star pupil and he's training for regionals. He can't stop surfing for that long, he'll lose the flow." Chris stood up to put various tools and bottles away. "It's the way it goes, those nasty little weever fish are always getting people. For now, the best thing to do is rest and let the swelling go." Josh sighed and sat down, he was not happy. "You said it was serious. How serious?" Chris shrugged then looked down at my foot again. "Daddy weever fish, at a guess. Definitely was not a baby, one of the nastiest I've seen all year. Apart from Lenny Gray, but he let his get infected... But that's because he was surfing again after going against the rules. He learnt his lesson, and you don't want an infection... Do you?" Chris looked at me and raised his eyebrows, I shook my head very fast and looked at my foot, it was killing me. "It's fine, regionals isn't for a while yet, I have plenty of time to train, and we can easily make up for those missed sessions. I'll be okay." Although I was okay with resting, in fact it would be quite nice to have a rest; Josh was angry, he wanted me and my tricks to be perfect for regionals. And at this rate, they weren't going to be.

The only time I got up off of the sofa was to mail my letter to Angel, otherwise I was housebound,  I told you my Mum was overprotective, she was almost dying over this. I sat watching Spongebob, when there was a knock at the door. I heard Claudia run along the hallway to get it, the living room was right next to the front door and as it was opened, I felt that cool breeze that I missed so much, I'd had a couple of visitors over two days. But none of my friends, only my Mum's friends. I heard the oh so familiar squeak of the front door and Claudia saying "who are you?" The other person laughed, I could only hear, not see, as there was a corner before the front door. "i'm here to see Beau." It was Georgia, why was she here? Were we really that good friends now? I wasn't sure. She walked in, she was wearing high waisted blue denim shorts and a white vest. "Hiyaa." She said quietly, walking into the room gently as if I was in hospital. "Oh, hi." I said, muting the TV so we could talk in peace. My Mum wasn't home, otherwise she'd be in, introducing her self. "How are ya doing?" She asked, sitting down at the opposite end of the sofa, just after where my feet stopped. "I'm alright." I couldn't take my eyes away from the screen it was the episode where Squidward swallowed his clarinet reed. So I switched off the TV altogether. "I brought you something from the surf club." She produced a large sparkly card out of her Jack Wills shopper. I opened it up and everyone had signed it. "Josh wanted me to bring it to you. Plus I wanted to see how you were anyway, it all made sense." I couldn't believe they'd make that for me. "Well, tell everyone thank you so much." Georgia nodded and smiled. "Well... I have to go and visit my grandma now. She's also ill," Georgia seemed so kind, visiting two sick people in one day, it was so... so... Angelic. She was about to get up and leave when there was another knock at the door. Claudia ran to open it again, this time she obviously knew who they were. "Helllooo!!" She said and then started laughing, she was forever giggling, slightly annoying at times, but better than always being stroppy. I heard Justin's voice "can we see Beau?" Claudia had suddenly taken this opportunity to play doctors. "Just this way please sir. He is in the living room wing, to the left of the Larch House Hospital. She laughed, before too long I saw three heads poked around the door of the living room. Justin, Eddie and Julia. My face lit up, but as soon as Julia spotted Georgia, her whole face dropped, I don't know what her problem was. Justin came over to me "Julia needs to talk to you, it's best if um... She" he looked at Georgia "or anybody else isn't in here." I nodded and the other came closer. "We'll be in the kitchen." Justin said, everyone walked out apart from Julia. "So I have some important news." She was standing up, not too close to me. She looked suitably uncomfortable. "Shoot, I can handle it." Julia sat down in the middle of the carpet and started fiddling with lose bits of hair which had fallen out of her bun. "Well, my family-" Just at that moment Georgia came in, holding a plate with, Oreos, peanut butter, cold sausages, salt and a pepperami on. "All your favourite snacks, Eddie told me what they were." She smiled and handed me the plate, I was grateful, but not at all hungry, I put it on the floor and waited for her to leave, she closed the door behind her. "Carry on, sorry about that." I said to Julia, who was now looking more upset than annoyed. "As I was saying, before rudely interrupted, my Dad and his work-" Again, another intrusion Georgia came in now, wearing a sickly smile and carrying a big glass of exotic flavour juice with ice. Now I was even annoyed. "I'm so sorry." I said as she left the room. "Please carry on, this time I'm certain there'll be no interruptions." Julia stood up and picked up her bag. "Y'know what. Forget it, it seems like you wouldn't care anyways. I'll tell you some other time. Maybe."
