Narrator POV
The group jumped into the gap. Almost immediately, they felt a shaking at their feet. Magnus started to panic.
"Hurry! Ratatoskr is here!" Magnus hurried the group in hushed voices.
"Ratatoskr? You mean a giant rat?" Percy laughed.
"No! He's a gigantic squirrel that eats this tree. He can kill us all with one bite!" Sam explained.
"Ah. Wait... we're on a tree?"
"Yes! Now, Jack, do us a favour and get us to Vanaheim please!" Magnus begged.
"Alright. But, we have to get that that branch first. That's where Vanaheim is." Jack pointed at a big branch, just beside the branch the group is standing on.
"Ok. Just hurry! Percy, Annabeth, you two hop onto my back. I'll fly you two there!" Sam urged as she transformed into a blue dragon.
Percy and Annabeth hopped onto Sam's back as they flew away. Magnus turned to Alex.
"Mind carrying me?"
"Yes."
"Wow."
"Alright. Fine. But do hurry up. We don't have much time." Alex crossed her arms and changed into a blue dragon. Together, they flew onto the portal branch, leading to Vanaheim. Behind them, they could hear Ratatoskr's angry screams and pounding feet. With just a few more meters in front of them, Ratatoskr swiped at Sam and Alex, lost its gripping and fell into the void.
"Oh gosh..." Annabeth gasped on the other side.
"He won't becoming back anymore." Sam muttered.
"I know. Should I miss him trying to kill us all?" Percy wondered.
"I don't know. Should you?"
"I guess not. I mean, I've had enough things trying to kill me for a lifetime. Who knew I'm still in danger of dying after dying?" Percy laughed.
"Probably the Fates." Annabeth grinned.
"Eh. I never forget them after this. C'mon. Let's go in." Percy smiled and the group jumped into the portal.5
