Alexandra Parker, sharp, witty, and as quick with her sarcasm as her brother Tej. Miami has always been home, but when she and Tej are pulled into a high-stakes job in Rio, everything changes. On the run from Agent Luke Hobbs, who is tasked with bri...
Luke paces nervously in his room, the small ring box flipping open and closed in his massive hands. The usually unshakable lawman is uncharacteristically anxious. Luke takes a deep breath, preparing himself to join the others on the rooftop of the safe house. The door creaks open, before Samantha and Thorin step in, their curious expressions turning to amused smirks when they spot the ring box.
"Is that what I think it is?" Samantha teases, her eyes lighting up in excitement. Luke chuckles, scratching the back of his head.
"Yeah, kid. Thinking about proposing to Alexandra. Thought maybe now's the time after everything we've been through," Luke explains as he glances over at Thorin nervously.
Thorin steps forward, his expression serious as he says, "You're asking my mom to marry you?" Luke nods, then kneels down so he's at Thorin's eye level.
"That's why I want your blessing, bud. You're her son, and your opinion matters to me," Luke says as he places a hand on Thorin's shoulder.
Thorin considers this for a moment before a wide grin spreads across his face.
"You have my permission, as long as I get to start calling you dad," Thorin responds which causes Luke to exhale in relief.
"You can call me dad anytime you want, bud," Luke replies as he hugs Thorin before opening the box to show them the ring. Samantha gasps, and Thorin's eyes widen at the marquise-cut opal centerpiece, that shimmers with a captivating play of colors, radiating soft hues of blue, green, and pink that seem to shift with the light. Surrounding the opal is an intricate gold setting adorned with delicate swirls, resembling the ornate curves of a crown. Below the centerpiece, a row of sparkling diamonds sit.
"Wow," Samantha whispers. "She's gonna love it."
"I hope so," Luke mutters before standing. "All right, let's do this."
On the rooftop, the team is gathered, the New York skyline stretching out behind them. Dom stands at the edge, his shoulders tense. Letty gently rubs his back, whispering words of comfort.
Nearby, Roman and Tej are busy attempting to impress Ramsey, each as ridiculous as the other. The sound of boots on the rooftop quiets the chatter as Mr. Nobody strides in, a gift box in hand. Mr. Nobody grins as he approaches Luke.
"Got a parting gift for you," Mr. Nobody says, handing the box over. Luke opens it to find his badge and gun. Mr. Nobody continues, "Your record's been cleared. Full reinstatement. You got your job back."
Luke glances at Samantha and Thorin, noting Samantha's frown. Luke closes the box.
"You know, after sixteen years, I figure it's time for a little break," Luke explains as Mr. Nobody looks surprised but nods in understanding. Luke turns with a smile, ruffling Samantha's hair as she beams. "Daddy's staying home."
Alexandra steps out, her heart pounding, as Thorin and Samantha spot her. They rush toward her, their arms wrapping tightly around her waist.
"Missed you, Mama," Thorin says, his voice muffled against her.
"I missed you too, baby," Alexandra replies, her fingers threading through his hair as Samantha hugs her other side.
Luke follows behind, his heavy footsteps echoing on the concrete. The moment he reaches her, he pulls her into a deep, passionate kiss, his arms wrapping securely around her waist.
"I've got something to say," Alexandra says, pulling back slightly, her cheeks flushed. She hesitates, her eyes flicking to the kids, then back to Luke. Finally, she blurts out, "I'm pregnant."
Luke freezes, his eyes widening as her words sink in. For a moment, he just stares at her, and Alexandra holds her breath, unsure of his reaction. Then, a grin breaks across Luke's face, wide and full of joy.
"Pregnant?" Luke repeats, his voice barely above a whisper.
Before she can answer, Luke drops to one knee, pulling a small velvet box from his pocket. Alexandra gasps, her hands flying to her mouth as he opens it, revealing the shimmering Opal ring.
"Marry me," Luke says simply, his voice steady, his eyes filled with love. Alexandra's breath catches, her vision blurring with tears.
"Yes," Alexandra whispers, her voice breaking. "But on one condition."
Luke raises an eyebrow, still grinning. "Name it."
"You will always be my agent. But my condition is that we settle down," Alexandra says firmly, her voice stronger now. "Live a normal, carefree life. No more running, no more danger."
Luke nods without hesitation, his smile softening. "Deal."
The rooftop erupts into cheers as the team clapping and whooping in celebration. Thorin and Samantha jump up and down, giggling with excitement.
"You're my family, Alex. You always come first," Luke says as he stands, slipping the ring onto Alexandra's finger before pulling her into another kiss.
"And you're mine. All of you," Alexandra responds as she rests her forehead against his, her tears falling freely now.
"Even though you are my sister and I would rather not know, I got to ask," Tej says as he pats Luke on the arm while Alexandra blushes as she realizes what her brother is about to do. "Did he just smack that ass or did he grab and hold onto it?" Everyone busts out laughing as Alexandra playfully shoves her brother while Luke covers Samantha's ears.
As the celebration dies down, everyone gathers around a long table. Luke sits at one end, holding Alexandra's hand, while Dom stands at the other, cradling his son.
"You've heard me say you never turn your back on family," Dom begins, his voice steady. "And I wanna thank you all for never turning your back on me." The baby coos, drawing Dom's attention. Dom smiles, kissing his son's head. "Everyone," Dom's voice is soft. "Meet Brian."
The team erupts into applause, clapping and cheering.
"Welcome to the family, Brian," Roman says, waving at the baby.
"Hey, Brian," Tej adds with a grin.
Dom settles at the table as everyone joins hands. bows his head.
"We thank you for giving us family," Dom says as he bows his head. "For the strength to carry on. And for blessing this family as it continues to grow in many ways. Amen."
As everyone echoes the amen, laughter and joy fill the rooftop. Together, they are unstoppable. Together, they are family.
