Part 22:
*weeks later*
Hayley and Illy were on their way to the airport.
A flight back to Los Angeles was their destination.
It was hard for Iliana to be taken away from her birth father when she had just met him.
But she understood that her mother still had feelings for him and it wasn’t easy for her to be around him. When all he seemed to do was fluff over his new born son.
Although still giving Illy the exact amount of attention she needed from him.
“Can we please stop at dad’s?” Iliana asked as the cab driver put their luggage in the trunk.
Hayley sighed.
“Didn’t you say good bye to him last night?” she questioned. “Besides hun, you’ll be back before you know it.”
Illy looked down at her phone with a hint of disappointment in her eyes.
Hayley looked at her daughter and smiled. “Fine.” She gave into Illy’s puppy eyes. “We can stop at Taylor’s.”
Illy shot her head up with a wide smile on her face.
“Thank you mom!” She beamed as she embraced her mother.
Hayley just hoped she wouldn’t regret this decision.
Since the day at the hospital, Hayley hasn’t really left her hotel room.
It was too painful to see Taylor be with Baylie.
And it pained Taylor to see Hayley at all.
She was and will forever be the one he wanted to be with.
But his obligation was to Baylie.
And Hayley respected that.

“Ma’am.” The cab driver said. Bringing her out of her daydream.
“Yeah?” Hayley asked as she broke her stare from the window.
“We’ve arrived.” She looked out the window and noticed Illy was already jogging her way up to the front door.
With a deep sigh, Hayley turned to the cab driver and smiled. “I’ll just wait in here.”
“You sure?” he asked very kindly.
She nodded. “I’m sure.”
And that was that.
Hayley waited in the cab as she saw Illy go into the home and the door shut right after her.
Her stomach in knots, she couldn’t break her stare.
Her eyes clued to that door.
Hoping, and praying that he will walk outside.
Just so that she could see his face one last time.
That was all she wanted.
A fair chance to say good bye.
**
Minutes turned into hours as Hayley awaited for Iliana to come out of the house.
She had only been gone for about ten minutes.
The longest ten minutes of her life.
Frustrated, and going a little insane, she decided to call her phone.
