Part 4:

*flashback*

A 5 year old Illy burst through her mom's bedroom door.

She smiled widely as she felt her small bundle crawl in next to her.

"Good morning Illy." Hayley said in a whispered tone. Squeezing Illy as she did.

"Mornin mommy." Illy responded. Wrapping her arms around her mom.

Hayley began to run her fingers down illy's back almost making her fall back to sleep.

"Mommy?" Illy said, followed by a yawned.

"Yes baby girl."

"How come I don't have a daddy and all of my other friends do."

That statement alone made her heart break. She'd knew that one day Iliana would grow up and begin to wonder. And ask questions. But she never had come up with a reason or response.

"You do have a daddy, silly one." Hayley smiled and ruffled her hair.

"Then why isn't he here? With us?" Illy rose herself from her mother's side.

"Babe," she ruffled her curly locks, "he's out there in the world. Being a super hero."

Iliana smiled wide. "Like Captain America?"

Hayley grinned. "yes. Exactly like Captain America."

Illy quickly jumped onto her feet and ran around the apartment scream: "my daddy is an avenger."

Hayley could not contain the happiness that spread all over her body.

Maybe telling her only child that her father was a super hero wasn't the brightest idea.

But it was far better than the truth.

Iliana ran up to her puppy, Alf, and began rocking him like a baby.

Hayley followed Illy carefully to the kitchen as she sat on the kitchen table.

Illy in the living room holding onto Alf as he ate.

"See Alf, I told you. We do have a daddy." She smiled. "Wait till the girls at school hear that my daddy is a super hero. They are never going to believe me."

Hayley chuckled under her breath overhearing her daughter's thoughts.

"But I'll find him. Right Alf? I'll find my daddy one day."
