Xiao's POV

Ah, lucky me, I'll have to deal with some annoying brat everyday in the future.

I sighed as I walked to the training grounds. Just as I was about to reach, I heard slashing sounds.

A beautiful girl with long blue hair tied in a low ponytail was swinging her sword there. She had gentle pinkish-purple eyes and two dark red horns. Her face was shown with determination, beads of sweat trickled down her slightly pale face.

"Oh, Ganyu, you are training?"

I approached her.

She looked up and jumped a little.

"O-oh! Xiao! Didn't see you there!" She smiled.

I nodded. "I'm joining you."

"Oh, okay."

I stood by her side and we started swinging our swords together. We use different weapons in combat, but this is to train our arm strength.

I paused.

"Ganyu."

"Hmm?" She perked her head up.

"You should take more rests. It's bad for your body to keep training." I started swinging again.

"...You too." She replied.

We continued swinging our swords in silence.

"HEYYY XIAO! ARE YOU TRAINING? CAN I WATCHHHH???"

A familiar voice shouted out from behind.

Oh no.

Venti's POV

I've been looking for Xiao everywhere, where did he go?

I was just wandering around when I stumbled upon the training ground, there were two people swinging swords there.

I saw a person with dark teal hair and teal highlights, I immediately recognized him.

"HEYYY XIAO! ARE YOU TRAINING? CAN I WATCHHHH???"

I yelled, walking towards him.

He smacked his head with his palm. The person beside him was startled. She was an exceptionally beautiful girl.

Wait...

Don't tell me...

SHE'S HIS GIRLFRIEND?!!

"A-ah, I assume you're Xiao's fiancé, Venti?" The girl spoke. Xiao groaned.

SHE CALLED HIM XIAO WITHOUT THE 'PRINCE'?!! ARE THEY THAT CLOSE?!

"Nice to meet you." She bowed politely. "I'm Princess Ganyu, Xiao's sister, you can just call me Ganyu."

Oh.

It's his sister.

I heaved out a sigh of relief.

Something's not right though?

I glanced at Ganyu, then at Xiao.

"You two look nothing alike though?" I tilted my head in confusion.

Xiao's face darkened.

"O-oh, that's because..." Ganyu glanced nervously at Xiao.

"I'm leaving."

Xiao abruptly started trotting away.

"Huh? Wait, Xia-" I was about to follow him but Ganyu stopped me.

"I advise you not to approach him now." She looked down sadly.

"Huh? D-did I say something wrong? Why is he so angry?"

Ganyu stayed silent.

"Come with me, I'll tell you his past. Well, part of it."

"Eh?! Why?"

"You're his fiancé, you deserve to know." She shrugged.

I was quite curious, so I decided to follow her.

She led me to the garden. We sat by the bench.

"So, the truth is, Xiao isn't exactly from this family..."

HUH?

I stared at her in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

She fiddled with her fingers.

"Well, you see...My father had another wife before our mother..."

"So Xiao is her son?" I tapped a finger on my chin.

"Yes." She nodded. "She didn't like her life in the palace, so she escaped, and left Xiao here. He had nowhere to go after that, since father didn't accept him as his son afterwards and refused to let him stay in the palace. He reminded father too much about his previous wife. He had to survive on the street all by himself at that time. So young, yet had to go through so much..." Ganyu sighed.

Oh, poor thing...I feel bad for him now.

"How did he become the prince then?" I asked.

"After 3 months, my father married my mother and had me. They were disappointed though, because I was a girl, only men can rule over the kingdom."

"My mother refused to have another child, so my father decided to take Xiao back. He cried that day, which was the only time I have seen him cry in my whole life."

"Kicking him out just to take him back? That's just cruel!" I crossed my arms.

Ganyu nodded sadly.

I sighed.

"I'll have to apologize to Xiao..."

"Don't worry, He isn't someone to hold a grudge on another person." She smiled reassuringly. I beamed at her.

"I'll go find him now! Thank you!"

And so, I rushed off skipping.

Once I was nowhere to be seen, Ganyu let out a sigh.

"Well...He is someone to hold a grudge on another person..." Ganyu muttered under her breath.
