Chapter 17 - Begin Again

The room was deadly quiet. The girls started sobbing and the boys bowed their heads.

"It's not fair to Milton. His sacrifice was to protect us and it isn't worth at all! And it's all caused by you! Pierson! You are the murderer!" Jerry couldn't control himself anymore. He shouted and cried, whatever to make him feel better - he was the one to ask Milton escape with him.

Jack threw a fireball at the console, but it was too high and Jack couldn't reach it. "Doesn't matter, you're going to the jail ya freak!" Kim said.

"I gotta admit, I never killed people when I'm on my missions. I'm sorry for you oh and I'm not going to the jail. Instead, you're all having the same fate with your dear friend," Pierson bursted into an evil laugh.

"Ah!" Kim suddenly screamed and recoiled. A beam of turbo laser was shot to Kim, she quickly discovered and avoided from that.

"The turbolasers will be shot in different directions more and more frequently. Enjoy!" Pierson said in a complacent voice. "If the laser touch your body, your energy is gonna absorbed by it, no matter it's the special power, or your own energy."

The warriors had to be extremely careful now. They didn't know which position were the turbo lasers coming from. Fighting with the robots was hard, but at least you could predict what's its next action. You couldn't predict the direction of the lasers nonetheless.

"Ugh!" Sloane knelt down suddenly - her leg got shot.

"SLOANE!" Brody rushed to her at once.

"I can't.. get up.." Sloane kept struggling. Brody held her with his arms and gave her support to get up.

"Oh lucky girl, if the laser shot at your body, you're gonna DIE," Pierson smiled. Sloane completely lost the control of her body and snuggled onto Brody. Brody helped Sloane up and glared at him.

Gate 4.

Jerry saw it, the gate which he, Rudy and Milton just got in, was opened.

He thought for a moment. "I'll go break down the remaining computer system," said while running to the opened Gate 4.

"What Jerry no!"

Pierson noticed Jerry. He tried to closed the gate, Jerry slipped out of the arena right before the gate closed. He understood, it's his responsibility to correct his mistakes.

He slowed down his pace, the corridor was quiet. No people, no robots - only Jerry.

The safety gates in front of Jerry had been closed by Pierson, these gates were lot thinner than those from the arena though.

"Aww sweet," Jerry smiled, Creating a small thunderstorm and splashed to the gates. They were all destroyed.

Jerry started running again, chasing the time.

"Guys, come over here," Rudy indicated.

"Rudy, we'll be shot easily if we cluster together." Kim warned.

"No it won' - " "RUDY WATCH OUT!"

A beam of turbo laser was shot to them. .
Rudy quickly created a small defend shield and the laser reflected immediately after hitting the shield.

"Omg Rudy how did you do that?" Phil was really, really, really scared.

"Nah easy one. Guys just cluster come on. Oh, and Milton's body, be careful." Rudy created a huge ray-shelter with everyone safe inside while deadly turbolaser blasts rained overhead.

"Didn't expect that did you? Pierson."
