Later that night we placed the tree in the living room. Decorated and lightened, the tree glowed throughout the entire house. From the couch I watched as Nick lit the fire illuminating more.
"We have a fire hazard." I joked, commenting on the candle flames and now the fireplace.
""I'm magical, I'll put it out love." Nick stood from the floor and joined me on the couch and wrapped a blanket around me.
"You can still burn Santa." I leaned into him, the warmth of the fire cuddled us as the snow fell from outside the window. The growth of the hearth gave the warm house a gentle golden hue.
"I found something in the attic for you, it may help a lot with your loss of Holy. a way to make you able to know she is ok, and happy." Nick pulled forth a book, old with leather and rusted wood spine. I could see it was written in old languages I did not understand.
"What does it do?" I inquired.
"In here is the way to make elf magic turn a human into slowly age, you will seemingly stop aging for thousands of years, like me, but you will stay human in every other aspect." he explained calmly.
"If you are positive, then we shall try."
