Soon every year on my birthday Nick would head out to my old village to visit my daughter and deliver her gifts from us. After another five years he came back with news, and a guest. In the sled as it landed were three people, one old man, one young man, and a young woman.
"Nick, you brought back people?" I greeted my lover after returning the reindeer to their homes, our yearly routine.
"Hello papa." the young woman introduced herself. I could finally see her long black hair, perfectly sculpted around her pale skin. Her rosy cheeks kissed her pale skin. I watched her exit the shed with elegance in a red robe.
"Holy." I raced to meet my daughter, embracing her in a tight hold. She was no longer a young girl but a young woman.
"You look miserable papa, but it is good to see you in great health. As Nick has told me you finally started dating, but I heard of no wedding?" My daughter inquired.
"No, we decided to wait till I knew you were safe and of good health. My dear you look beautiful, come inside where it is warm." I took Nick's hand and led the two others into the house. I watched as the young boy looked around in immense interest. I could see the way his face lit up with the bright lights and calm smells.
"Papa, this is Nion, your nephew remember." She introduced me to the once young infant.
"Hello Nion. it's good to finally meet you." I reached out my hand as we entered the house.
"Hello Sir." My young nephew greeted me.
"Why don't you kids tell him how you managed to sneak into my sled." I finally heard Noah speak up again after making the two kids some warm drinks.
"We heard the bells, and I knew that he was there. I woke Nion and Auntie, she let us go and would cover for Auntie and Uncle." she started.
"And so she let you go? I love that I can always trust Rose." I leaned into my lover, and let my daughter continue.
"We snuck onto the roof and into the sled and off we came, here to you." my daughter finished helping Nion with his gift wrapping i had barely noticed.
"They refused to open their presents till they saw you. Nion wanted to meet the uncle he only heard stories of." Nick boasted. I watched as he opened the gift and smiled, pulling out a wooden rocking horse.
Soon Holy opened her own, a woven cloth was placed inside the box. It was a cloak drape she had requested for, the last time Nick visited.
"I hope I did a good job." I questioned my girl.
"You did amazing, this is truly a jolly gift."
