The town was desolate, almost abandoned. I could see no life inside the homes, their lights dark and cold. The town looked like they had left in a rush, the sled solidified my worry when we found the burned down barn my reindeer used to live in.

"There is no one here." I mumbled as I tightened my jacket in worry. I could see how Nick also fidgeted, worry consumed us both.

"I'll get the sled to a safe place, you get to work on finding out what the hell is happening here." he kissed my forehead before leading the reindeer and sled away.

I explored the once vibrant town now consumed by solem and despair. I could see the fire log boxes had been emptied, and the storefronts had snow built up in front of them. The once vibrant decorated houses looked like they had been ransacked. I saw the cobwebs and rust that had formed.

"It didn't look like this when we left, how could so much have changed in two months." I felt my daughter wrap her arm around mine. My nephew walked over to a house and knocked on the door, a house I had never seen the family in personally. I could tell by his reaction whoever inside meant dearly to him.

"Nion, come here please. Don't wander off, we need to find someone to tell us what happened and we need to stick together." I advised. Before he could reach us we the shouts rang through the air.

Soon the ground began to shake, ever growing and harsh, throwing us off of balance. I watched as the reindeer stampeded past us. In the midst of the chaos I watched as the townspeople swarmed after them burning torches and from what I saw, sleds. In one man's arms was Nick.

"Welcome back Chris, or should I say Sanat Claus?" the tall man walked forth over powering my lover.

"I am not Santa Claus, I am a father who makes toys for his daughter. Nickolas is the one who delivers so let the messenger go." I was done running, running from the people who hated me and ready to kill me. I straightened my jacket and walked towards the crowd.

"I don't care, you broke the rules." he pulled out a shotgun and aimed it at me.

"Fuck your rules."
