Off The Cliff They Go

Here's a little scene I've been thinking about:

"Someone would be a damn fool to let you go." He growled. We were on the edge of a cliff. I looked into his eyes. He was a broken man, struggling to stay together. Putting a hand on his cheek, I smiled gently. His grin turned feral, and his eyes went dark. "Let me be that fool."

In that second, time stopped. It felt eternal. He pushed me off of the cliff, and in his eyes, I saw pure glee. I knew it was him who did it, not some power puppeteering him. Wind bit my skin and grabbed at my hair, merciless. I fell towards the eternal darkness of the water and the rocks below. In those last seconds I yelled out my last words. "I love you."

Everything went dark.
