Toni was bored out of her mind. She was sitting at a table with a few of the Riverdale High faculty at that annual Christmas party. She had only started here this year while most of the other employees had been here for five years, a decade, or longer. Most of them were even alumni.

She was listening to the English teacher go on and on about how being weird really fueled his teenage angst and got him into writing. He was the most annoying person the brunette had ever met, especially when he talked about his novel and whatever projects he was currently working on.

Unfortunately, the party was in the school gym, so there wasn't any alcohol allowed. She really wished she had been rebellious and brought a flask or something, but as the guidance counselor, that would look really bad.

Toni looked across the gym at the beautiful redhead, who was the cheer coach. Cheryl Blossom was incredible. She was exactly Toni's type - cruel, delicious and tall. But of course, she couldn't actually tell Cheryl that. They were coworkers and Toni wasn't even sure if the redhead liked women.

The two women had only spoken a few times, mostly about cheerleaders that Cheryl was worried about or students that Toni thought could use cheerleading as an outlet. Sexuality wasn't really at the top of the list for ice breakers.

Thoughts about the redhead ran through Toni's mind. She was staring at her an embarrassing amount. Toni sighed and rested her chin on her fist. As Toni stared, she suddenly realized that Cheryl was staring back at her, with her head slightly tilted and a curious look in her eyes. Toni swallowed and immediately looked down at her phone that was sitting on the table.

Toni was definitely going to act like nothing happened. At least until she received a text from Cheryl.

Cheryl: Like what you see?

She definitely did. There was no doubt about that. Toni decided the best thing to do was to not respond. However, Cheryl was definitely doing things to her. She decided to text a guy she occasionally hooked up with. After scrolling to the name Chris, she searched for a selfie she had taken a few days ago. She looked hot. She quickly sent the picture and put her phone down so it seemed she was engaged in the conversation taking place at the table.

Toni: *image* What are you doing tonight? I'm free in an hour.

On the other side of the room, Cheryl had received a response from Toni. Her jaw dropped. She assumed that Toni Topaz was attracted to women, just by the few glances they shared throughout the months that they had both been employed at Riverdale High. Cheryl desperately wanted to make a move, or to even invite her to dinner and a movie as friends, but she didn't want to ruin their work relationship. They were a good team and she couldn't lose that.

Cheryl was completely enthralled by everything that was Toni Topaz. She excused herself from the table where Gladys, one of the lunch ladies, was talking about how she and the other cafeteria staff were planning to go to the Board of Education to make healthier lunches. She was completely bored of the conversation.

The redhead stood and headed for the bathroom. She hated how everybody at the party - at the school - seemed completely fake. Even the party seemed fake with how nice everyone was being towards each other. Cheryl could see a member of the faculty at the grocery store and they wouldn't pay her any mind.
