On a Thursday night, 1982, me and my friends, Tommy, Bobby, Dutch and Jimmy, were driving on our motorcycles on our way to the beach. At late nights we like to go to the beach and hang out there. Suddenly we hear a noise. We walk into an ally and there's two shady guys restraining a girl who looks about our age. About 16 in sophomore year. She had tied up wavy brown hair and dark brown eyes. She was pretty. Nevertheless she was in danger, so I decided to step in. My friends followed my lead. I was happy to be leader of our group.

"Leave her alone." I said fearlessly. The shady guy finally lets go of the chick. "Looks like the karate boys wanna fight with 2 adults. Think you're put up for that?" Says the one with a knife. He starts walking towards us. The other guy grabs his shoulder.

"Blade, don't do it, man. They're kids, we could get in serious trouble." The guy with the knife gives me a dirty look. "Fine. You're lucky. Next time, I'm cutting our your throats. Let's go, man."

Worried, we ask the girl a bunch of questions.

"Are you alright?" Or "what are you doing here in the middle of the night." She explains that she and her brother were new to the Hills and the power went out so they went on a walk. They ended up in an ally and they got jumped by two men. Then her brother was being a pussy and ran off.

"Do you live in the Hills?" Asks Tommy. The girl points to her house and I catch my friend Bobby smiling. So I nudge him with my elbow with a smirk on my face.

"I'll see you tomorrow?" I say.

"Sure." We wave goodbye and go back on our motorcycles. Nevertheless, I notice Bobby stayed. He was probably flirting with her but who would like him. So me and the guys start driving off. He'll probably meet up with us later or ditch us for the girl. I hope we can see her again.

We make it to the beach. I quickly run to the guys and start talking about the girl.

"Did you see that girl? She was so hot." I say to my friends.

"No way, man. She looked so pretty." Said my friend Dutch.

"Yeah. I bet that I could make her fall in love with me." Said Tommy. He's always so competitive. Always has to turn everything into a bet or a competition. But I can't drop a challenge.

"Deal. We all know I'm hotter than all of you. She'll definitely fall for me." I said proudly, 'cause it's true. We all agreed. Except Jimmy. When it comes to girls he stays silent. The bet was set but we didn't wanna act like we were using the girl. We actually liked her. Well...I did. I didn't know about the other guys.
