The bells rings and I head out of class 108 math class with my friend Tommy. I see the girl from last night. I wave goodbye to Tommy. I remember seeing her earlier today. I see her walking towards the lockers near mine. I walk towards her. Now time to make my move. I know her name because Dutch quickly ran to me and told me and ran off.
"You're Lagi, right? The chick I saved last night? Dutch told me about you." She turns around.
"Johnny, right? Also it wasn't just you. It was your friends, too." I'm flattered that she knew my name but I got a little jealous she remembered my friends, too.
"Eh, who the hell cares about them." She gets a worried look on her face.
She starts walking away. I catch up to her anxiously.
"Do you have English next?" I quickly get a word in and then she nods. I ask her if she wants to walk to English together.
"Sure." She grabs her notebook so I decide to flirt with her by being a gentleman but also mysterious and seductive.
"I can carry that for you if it's too heavy." She smiles a bit and responded.
"No that's alright. I'm not weak." I smirk and blush a little. I felt a little offended. Like I just got punched in the face.
We make it to room 212.
"Is this the new student?" The teacher asks me and I nod in response.
"My name is Mrs Jacobson." Said the teacher.
"My name Lagi Te Tai. I moved from Oahu, Hawaii." She responded.
"Interesting name. There's a seat open next to Johnny." Then she winks. I look at Lagi and she's blushing while covering her face a bit. I grab her hand and pull it away. Her hand is warm. I run my fingers through my hair and squeeze her hand a bit tighter.
I pulled out the chair for her. I see her blush a little, again. I smirk and she tried hard to not make eye contact. Mrs Jacobson walked to the board.
"Alright class, we'll be practicing grammar." She picked up a dry erase marker and wrote a sentence. She called Lagi to fix the sentence. She fixed the sentence perfectly. I was amazed that this chick is super smart. Not that I thought she was dumb, I just never knew she was this smart. Plus, pretty girls usually aren't that smart.
Thankfully Mrs Jacobson didn't call on me for any of the sentences. I was good at this but it's boring. Then the bell rang finally. I asked her if she wanted to eat lunch with me and the guys.
"Sure." She replied.
"You sure do say "sure" a lot." I chuckled teasingly but nicely.
"Let's just go to lunch." Lagi said getting redder every time.
We talk about rock bands and other stuff on our way to the cafeteria. I'm surprised this chick knows a lot about that. Most girls only like painting their nails or other girly stuff. Whatever girls do.
"Do you eat school lunch?" I ask her.
"Yeah. My father got tired of making lunch for me." I bite my lip.
"That's a shame. We'll wait for you by our table. It's farthest from the door." I chuckle and wave goodbye and I sit at the table with the guys.
