Been a while, huh.

Vlad stepped into Tito Santi's unit for the first time since that night he barged in, driven only by an alcohol-induced haze, only to find himself sobering up in front of the one who broke his heart.

"So, Karl. Ano nga pala ang papanoorin natin ngayon?" Vlad asked.

"It. Sabi kasi ng prof ko, try movies outside of your comfort zone daw, kaya naisip kong manood ng horror movie."

"Horror movie? Baka inimbita mo lang ako kasi takot ka, ha." Vlad teased.

"Hindi, ah! Bawal bang gusto ko lang ng kasamang manood? Ewan ko talaga sa'yo, Vlad!" Karl tried to sound serious, but it was obvious to Vlad that he was suppressing his laughter.

Ulol, you couldn't even stay in the room alone that night we shared ghost stories.

"Nagtampo agad. Para kang bata." Vlad said, laughing.

"Look who's talking. Ikaw nga yung nagtampo dahil lang sinabihang maghugas ng pinggan." Karl's serious facade faded, leaving a reminiscent smile on his face.

Vlad took a seat on the couch as Karl hooked his laptop up to the TV.

Well isn't this a throwback.

The movie played and Vlad couldn't help stealing glances at Karl while watching. He recognized the wide-eyed stare when the plot started heating up, the way Karl would lean forward during scenes he liked, even the odd habit of dipping his chips in soda that Vlad never understood, but never bothered to question. There were new expressions too. The way Karl gripped the armrest of the couch during scary scenes, his heightened breathing, and obvious struggle to resist the urge to jump out of his seat.

If you only knew how glad I am to be seeing new sides of you once more.

The movie hit its climax and Karl screamed. Next thing Vlad knew, Karl was grabbing his arm while gasping for what sounded like his life. He laughed and turned his gaze to Karl.

"Ang clingy mo naman, Karl." he laughed.

"Ay sorry sorry sorry sorry!" Karl said in a panicked frenzy.

"Sabi ko na nga, eh. Takot ka." Vlad said as his laughing intensified.

Karl responded by hitting Vlad on the head with a pillow. Vlad blocked the incoming barrage of pillow attacks, but Karl didn't stop.

"Tumigil ka nga, 'di pa tapos yung movie! May isusulat ka pang analysis nito."

"Nakakainis talaga 'pag tama ka, Vlad." Karl rolled his eyes, shifting his focus back to the film.

Buti na lang ikaw yung may analysis paper, Karl, kasi mas gusto kitang panoorin kaysa sa pelikula.
