Ice Skating

It was a cold December day, snow covered New York and the Avengers were enjoying a calm day off in Central Park. 

Everyone decided to spend the late afternoon at the park, some doing activities together others relaxing off on their own like Bruce, who found a yoga group to join for the hour. 

Wanda and Vision were walking slowly along the paths, talking to each other quietly. Thor found some college students who were teaching him how to play basketball, though it wasn't really a fair game. Sam and Bucky were engaged in a competitive game of giant checkers, drawing quite the crowd with their smack talk, leading Nat to smacking the backs of their heads. 

Tony, Steve, Nat and Clint decided to go ice skating. Nat, Clint and Steve were going for fun, but Tony was going because Clint bet that Tony couldn't ice skate. 

"How hard can it really be, I made a suit in the middle of the desert. I can skate on some ice no problem." Tony announces, Clint rolls his eyes "we will see about that Stark!" 

Upon arriving to the ice skating rink, the rink only has a few groups of teens on the rink. Tony decides to buy out the rest of the spots in the rink for the night, allowing those already there to stay but not wanting to be crowded by fans while they are having a relaxing day off. 

Nat ends up having to show Steve and Tony how to put on ice skates properly, while Clint quickly puts his on and skates off "Come on Stark show me what you got! ha!"

Steve steps onto the ice, holding the rail but slowly getting his balance and skating off, still staying close to the side rail though and falling a few times in the process. 

Nat glides off with the most grace of the group, doing some small spins and turns before returning to the entrance to watch Tony with Clint. 

Tony places one foot on the ice, staring down "Come on Tin Man!" Clint taunts, skating in circles near him. 

"Oh can it bird man, I'm coming, I'm coming" 

Tony places his second foot on the ice and almost loses balance but catches himself on the rail, pulling himself back up to standing. "Come on Stark! 10 minutes of skating without falling and you win, If you fall I win and I get to take any vehicle I want of yours for a joy ride!" 

Tony huffs, "Fine! And if I win then you have to clear all of your nests out of the vents tomorrow" Clint frowns, "all of them?" "All of them" Tony confirms. 

The two shake hands, and Clint skates off again. Tony begins slowly moving around the rink, staying close to the edge, grabbing on everytime he loses his balance. After a lap around the rink it has only been 3 minutes, but he hasn't fallen yet. 

Nat joins Tony in his slow skate around the rink, making small talk and laughing when Tony almost falls. Suddenly Nat's attention is drawn away from Tony. 

There in the middle of the rink someone is preforming a beautiful routine of spins and jumps. Tony follows Nats gaze and the pair watch the young adult preform to the random song playing over the speakers. 

"They are good, those jumps are very clean" Nat comments, Tony nods as Steve joins them. "It's beautiful isn't it" Steve adds. They all nod, watching the performance before them. 

Clint join the group 7 minutes into Tony's time on the rink, no falls yet, but many near falls have occurred. Clint keeps trying to distract Tony, "Oh look out, its slippery.... wait whats that.... look out....Ah come on man!" Clint's attempts at distracting Tony are failing. 

Tony laughs, "I'm not gonna fall for that!" Clint groans "I can't believe I'm gonna lo- wow they can really skate. The figure at the center of the rink was spinning in a really tight fast spin, crouched down to the ground. Standing as the spin slows down, the figure bows to the applause of their friends on the side of the rink before making their way to the end. 

Their scarf and hat cover over half their face, and as the group nears the figure rips off the hat and scarf, shoving the hat in his pocket while trying to fix his scarf.

"Peter!" Tony exclaims as they come to a stop near the boy. Peter beams, waving enthusiastically towards to the group "Hi Mr Stark! Miss Natasha! Mr Rogers! Mr Barton!" 

Tony rolls his eyes, "How many times do I have to tell you kid its Tony" 

Peter laughs, "no your'e not, its Mr. Stark" 

"That was some beautiful skating Peter" Nat comments, giving the boy a quick hug, always holding a soft spot for the little spider. 

"Thank you, well I wasn't always as good at it, but with spider abilities also comes better balance." Peter starts fixing his scarf again around his neck, Nat reaches up to help but Peter pulls it up even higher to cover more of his face. 

"Cold there kid" Tony comments, pushing Clint away from him, trying to trip Tony. Peter chuckles, "Well Spider bite gave me better balance but also makes it hard for me to tolerate the cold. Hence the 4 jackets and double socks, I like the snow and ice skating but the spider in me just wants to sleep in the cold." 

Tony claps Peter on the shoulder, "well what do you say we go warm up with some hot cocoa" 

"Wait I'm here with my friends, I can't just leave Ned and MJ." Peter exclaims frantic. Tony shrugs, "Bring them with Spidey boy" 

"its spiderman" Peter mumbles skating off to grab MJ and Ned. 

Going to step off the rink, suddenly Tony finds himself butt to ice on the ground. 

"YES!" Clint cheers "9 minutes and 53 seconds! I win!" 

Tony rolls his eyes, "Fine you can take a car for a joy ride."

Clint smirks, "Who said anything about cars? I said Vehicle? And as you have classified on your inventory the suits count as Vehicles!" 

Tony goes to argue, but then recalls his first time flying before chuckling to himself, "Fine a deals a deal. Lets go the kids are waiting" 

Peter grabs Nat's hand introducing her to Ned and MJ, both who seem to be having a fan girl moment about the black widow being in their presence. Tony smiles to himself, excited to spend more time with the kid and to see Clint crash into a pile of snow the next day when he attempts to fly with the rocket boots.
