Penny Parker Story

Penny Parker could never catch a break. It all started when she was born this tiny little sickly baby and has just evolved as the years have gone by, her 'Parker luck' getting worse and worse every year. 

From her parents dying in a car crash, to being bitten by a radioactive spider, to her Uncle Ben dying and being left with her Aunt May who could barely bother to glance Penny's way. May Parker who lost her husband and got stuck with a kid she didn't even want and could barely afford to care for. 

Penny knew her aunt loved her once, but after losing her husband it was like she couldn't love anything else. 

May never did much to Penny other than completely ignoring the girl living in the spare bedroom of the apartment, occasionally feeding her but Penny had to work side jobs to afford her own food and clothes. 

Penny knew her life could be much worse and accepted it, working crazy jobs that a 15 year old girl shouldn't be doing out late at night in New York. Until she was offered an internship at Stark Towers. Penny entered as a joke never thinking they would accept someone under 18, but the did, and they chose her. 

Penny had to quit all her side jobs to make time in her schedule for the internship without hurting too much of her Spider Girl time. And the lack of pay was really started to show on Penny. 

Her clothes barely fit her anymore, and she was always hungry but she was able to work with Mr. Stark in the labs. He had yet to figure out that she was Spider Girl, first dragging her out of the intern labs after she has solved a problem a board he had been struggling with for months. 

Ever since then Penny worked mainly with Mr. Stark and Dr. Banner, whenever Penny was at the tower she would steal and eat as many snacks as she could. She could no longer afford lunch at school and May would only let her have one piece of toast in the morning despite her enhanced metabolism needing more like 8 pieces plus eggs and bacon and fruit to sustain herself. But one piece of toast was enough for May as a teenager so it should be enough for Penny. 

Today Mr. Stark was letting Penny work on whatever she wanted, so she was trying to make an AI, hopefully one that she could upload in the spider girl suit she built. A few hours into working a low grumble filled the room, Penny's head shot up then blushed realizing it was her stomach making the noise. 

Chuckling, Tony sets down what he was working on "Hungry again kid? Let's go have dinner, the rest of the team should be up there eating anyway." 

Penny nods, following not one to give up food. She had met all of the Avengers both as Penny and as Spider Girl helping out with villains or Hydra when she could but wasn't ready to let them know who she was. Even if she knew they liked her as both Penny and Spider Girl. 

The elevator doors open to the sound of arguing that sometimes seemed to follow the Avengers around the compound when they were all together. This time it was Sam and Bucky arguing about something, well it was normally those two arguing anyway. 

"I mean come on! How could you think- Oh hey Penny Perfect!" Sam grips Penny's forearms getting her attention "Now tell me Whats the better book series, The Hobbit or the Lord of the Rings?  Just books not the movies!" 

Penny laughs, Tony ditching her to deal with their craziness. "I mean, I think the Hobbit is the better book series" 

"Ha Told you Wilson!" Bucky jeers, high fiving Penny before ruffling her hair slightly. "So kid, you joining us for dinner tonight?" 

"You bet she is!" Tony yells from across the room, "Pizza is on its way now" 

30 minutes later the avengers are all settled at a table eating the hulk's body weight in pizza.
