The Phone Number

 Just a twist on the Class wrong Number Story, Tony knows Spider Girl but not Penny Parker

* Hey May, School was fine today, Flash was being a jerk as usual but MJ and Ned got him to leave me alone. I passed my Bio Chem exam. I miss you * 

* Hey May, my backpack got torn of the train today, luckily you taught me how to patch it. I guess I'll go do that now, I miss you* 

*" Hey May, I know this is like the 1000th time I've called the answering machine but I just keep hoping you will pick up, I Larb you "* 

*You can't really be gone May*

*"I don't know what I'm going to do, they want to take me to the orphanage, but I convinced them to let me live alone and just check in once a week. I don't know how I'm gonna keep our apartment May but I'm gonna try, I promise"*

Tony had replaced his phone number after Clint leaked his personal number as a prank to the press, and ever since he got this number he has been getting these random messages and voice mails from some kid. 

At first he thought Clint was just pranking him again, but it's. Tony didn't reply at first thinking it was just a wrong number, but after a few weeks Tony finally figured it out. This kid must have lost this 'May" probably a family member, Tony debated replying and telling them the number was given to someone else but it seemed like they were using the messages to cope with their loss, and Tony couldn't take it away from them. 

Every time the phone ringed and he saw it was the kid calling he thought about picking it up, ending this game of leaving messages to a seemingly dead person. But he couldn't bring himself to do it. So the common occurrence of Tony Stark glancing at his phone and just letting ring on and on had begun. 

Natasha and Pepper noticed it first, normally if it was someone he didn't want to talk to he would just decline the calls. But not this one, he would let it ring, and it would soon be followed by the dial tone saying someone left a message. 

They questioned him about it but Tony insisted it was just random numbers he didn't know, neither woman believed him but let him keep the secret for now.

Penny didn't know how many messages she left her Aunt's phone number, but she knew she would never get a reply. May died due to a shooter at her work 5 months ago. 

Penny had been sound asleep in her bed when it occurred, when she woke up to her phone ringing over and over and someone from the hospital insisting she get there right away. Penny doesn't remember much else from the night, she remembers feeling numb, swinging to the hospital as fast as she could and running inside only to have a doctor inform her May had already passed. 

Penny stood over May's body for hours, staring at her face before turning, signing the release to the funeral home and running out into the raining night. 

Penny found the gang members responsible, they were trying to get to a member of a rival gang and May got in the way. Penny remembers punching one of them and only coming to her senses an hour later, around her on the floor was 5 unconscious men. Crying she tied them up and threw them at the base of a police station. 

Penny woke up the next morning on top of a building, the rain finally stopping. 

Penny spent the next 3 days planning May's funeral, and 5 days later she stood in her apartment numb as she signed her deal with child services. Penny was 16 and could continue to live on her own or with a friend she just had to keep in touch with her case manager.
