"New plan!" Taiga exclaimed, bursting into his house.

"Alright, what do you have in mind?"

"Tomorrow, instead of hanging out with those girls at lunchtime, you should have lunch with me- and Kitamura, obviously. I mean, I can't really talk to him without any help, so I guess I'll need you to act as an interpreter."

"Maybe you guys aren't meant to be."

Did I just say that out loud?

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing, I just want you to know that I won't always be there to explain your antics to him."

"I bet you would do that for Minori."

"Jesus Christ, Taiga!"

They both remained frozen and embarrassed.

Clearing his throat, he tried again.

"This isn't about anyone else, just you. If you really want to get together with Kitamura, you'll have to learn how to talk to him without getting all flustered around the guy. I mean, you saw how Kihara acted around Kitamura; if you want to stand a chance against her, you'll have to act better than her, which isn't really that hard."

"How would I do that? Are you saying she's more attractive than me?"

Getting up, he turned around so that he faced the couch. Then, with a mighty blow, kicked it with all his strength.

"I'm saying that she talks with him more than you do." He winced.

"You deserved that."

"Shut up. Point is: if you want him to fall for you, you'll have to put yourself out there more."

This girl has a certain way of getting on my nerves. That being said, it's not like I hate her or anything, in fact, I kinda like this dynamic we have. Although, it would be nice to have my own girlfriend...

"What should I do then?"

"Don't you ever talk with Minori about this crush of yours?"

"Was I supposed to?"

"She's your best friend, isn't she? I thought that she already knew."

"No, but she still thinks you're helping one of your guy friends get together with me."

"Well, she probably wants nothing to do with me after today."

"Not really, she seemed fine."

That's a relief.

The two spent the next couple of minutes trying to think of a way to win over Kitamura. Nothing seemed to come to mind.

"I doubt he's into showy clothes like the other guys are, so we'll have to deal with your personality."

"What's wrong with my personality?"

"I didn't mean it like that; I meant that we'll have to rely on it! So, as long as you don't attack him, we'll be alright."

"You keep saying 'we."

"Are we not a team?"

Taiga blushed as she looked away.

Oh, come on; don't get like this on me now! Besides, if you keep this up, I might- No, get that thought out of your head. Why the hell do I keep thinking like that?

"Maybe we should switch things up a little. I need to find you a girlfriend."

Now, it was his turn to blush and look away.
