"Where were you yesterday?" Aisaka demanded on their way to school the next day.

"Why, you worried about me?" He asked with a little smirk.

Surprisingly, this worked. The girl put her left hand on her face and felt a burning sensation on her cheek. She then did a double take before adding:

"Yeah, so what?"

This made him smile as they continued walking down the street.

"I was hanging out with Ryuji and Haruta. Kihara and Kashi were also there."

He made a split second decision to tell her about the two girls, a choice that may have saved his life.

"Oh, well you should have at least called! You had me worried over nothing."

"You didn't call either."

"Whatever, I was at Minori's house yesterday, so I guess it doesn't matter."

There was the usual crowd trying to get inside OHS, so they spent a few minutes struggling to get past them. Once they got inside, they made it to their classroom.

"Morning, Taiga!" Kushieda exclaimed.

Besides Kushieda, there were a handful of other students trying to get work done last minute. Takasu was again chatting with Kushieda, so Y/N and Aisaka went to their own seats.

None of their other friends were there.

"Are we that freaking early?" Aisaka asked, looking around.

Ryuji checked his phone.

"No, this is the usual time everyone starts piling in. Guess they all got sick or something."

Guess Ryuji didn't go overboard last night either. Huh, I thought he was out cold.

"It's going to be a quiet day then." He sighed, looking at Taiga.

She didn't ask any more questions, instead she was scribbling on a piece of notebook paper. Her movements were relaxed, indicating that she wasn't writing anything important.

Good; no one is going to die today.

His mind suddenly swelled with memories from last night. Both Kihara and Kashi showed him a side of them that normally would have been hidden from everyone else. It was nice going out and relaxing with them. Then, there was Nanako teaching him how to dance. He unfortunately felt his eyes widen at remembering this, but it was too late.

"What are you gawking at this early in the morning?"

Taiga's voice wasn't filled with indignation or disappointment this time around. Of course, this immediately raised an alarm in his mind. Nope, she was just tired.

"Sorry, I was thinking about something."

Now there's an idea: me dancing with Taiga! Too bad there isn't any event or place that we'll be able to do this, save for the pub I guess, but do you really think that someone of her size would be as lucky as we were?

His thoughts were interrupted as Kushieda started laughing at something Takasu had said.

"They might as well get together already." Taiga sighed, her voice sounding pouty.

She didn't have her usual disappointed tone, instead, her voice sounded mellow and sad. It was almost like she was missing out. Y/N smiled gently when she looked at him.

One minute you're rooting for them; the next minute you're in tears because you don't want to be a third wheel.

"Hey, are we doing anything later?" She asked.
