We both slowly turn around; coming face to face with the beast. It was shaped like the polor bears I'd seen in books. The size was about right expect it wasn't white it was tan. Its face looked almost like a rat. It had a thin beard on its chin. It had large fangs like a sabor tooth tiger. It's paws had long and sharp claws that dug into the ground.

"What is that?" I whisper Dean trying not to make any sudden movements.

"Get ready." He says drawing out the blade from his back. I take out both sia's from the belt Ryan had given me to keep them in.

"3..2.." Dean steadily starts to count down I take a deep breath and exhale. I promise myself if going to die; I'm going to die fighting.

"1..Go!" We rush towards the beast. It takes no time charging back at us. Dean swings the sword at its leags but, it jumps over us just in time. I turn around quickly. As it runs toward me. I duck as one of my blades cone into contact with its right leg. It let's out a low growl. It stands between me and Dean.

Before I even knew what was happening it went for Dean. Dean swung at it. It sliced the beast's side but it didn't stop. It lunged at Dean knocking him the the ground with a thud. I see Deans sword slide away. Its paw reaches up ready strick him.

"Hey!" I yell throwing a rock at the beast. It grumbles and runs at me before I can see if Dean is moving or not. I roll away from it just in time. Once there's a few feet between the beast and I. It stands up on it two back legs. I take the opportunity and send my sia soaring threw the air and it sinking into the beast's stomach. I lots out a loud howl then charges at me.

Before I can react its paw swipes at me; cutting into my shoulder and knocking me to the ground. I scream out in pain. My shoulder felt like it was on fire. I take my hand and press it to my shoulder and, blood seeps though my fingers. Out of nowhere the beast lets out another howl and stumbles back. I look up in surprise I see Dean on its back.

"Go! Run!" Dean yells at me. Just then the beast slams against a tree and I see Dean fall to the ground limp. I'm not going to leave him. He just saved my life. Screw the rules. I'll be damned if we both get taken down by and oversized rodent.

"Come on! Come is that all you got?" I yell at the beast. I gruffs and starts running toward me. I stand there waiting for it to get close enough. I slice the it's neck. Then quickly jump out of the way. It whimpers and stumbles away. Blood stains its fur. It falls to the ground whimpering even softer. The sound makes my throat tighten.

I quietly make my way over to the beast. It makes not attempts to fight me anymore. I look at my sia then back at the beast. It didn't deserve to suffer it was just doing what it had to to survive just like us. I walk behind it I reach out to pet it's fur. Then I slide my sia into the side of its neck just like Ryan showed me and training. The whimpers stop and everything it silent again. I look over to Dean, who is still slumped against the tree. My heart drops to my stomach.

"Dean?" I ask hoping for a response but, just like always I hear silence. God, I hate silence. I shake him trying to wake him up but he dosent stir.

"Dean, come on its time to wake up. Please, you can't be died. Please..." I beg and tears prickly my eyes. I rest my head on his chest his chest and thats when I realize his chest was slowly rising  and falling. I let breathe a sigh of relief.

"Lin?" He ask sounding confused.

"Yeah, I'll be right back." I reassure him. I slowly make my way over to the beast and retrieve my other sia and put it back in my belt. I walk over to grab Dean's sword as well. I crawl back over to Dean who now seems a little more awake.

"Can you lean forward?" I ask as I gently place my hand on his back trying to lean him toward me. He doesn't help me out much but, I put the blade back in sheath on his back. I gently lean him back against the tree.

We both just sit there for a few minutes. That's when I realize the sun is going down. We have to get back to camp. Dean could have broken somthing or he could have a concussion. Not to mention Dean is in and out of consciousness. My arm is still oozing blood and I don't have much energy left in me. We won't survive another attack.

"Dean, we have to get moving." I tell him waking him up.

"Can you walk?" I ask

"I can try but, I'll need help up." He mumbles. His eyes are barely open. If he dosent even have enough energy to open his eyes he sure as hell isn't going to be able to walk back to camp by himself.

"Put your arm around me." He does as he's told and throws his arm around my shoulder.

"Ok,  on the count of 3 we'll stand up." He nods readying himself.

"3,2,1," on one we both stand up. He sways for a minute.

"You good?" I ask. He nods once he finally finds his footing. He removes his arm from around me. I keep one hand in the middle of his chest and one on his back to keep him steady. He takes one step and he groans in pain and begins to fall. I help sit him down slowly.

"What is is?" I ask

"My ankle." He says now wide awake.

"Come on, put your arm around me and I'll help you walk. We need to get back to camp before dark. We can't stay the night out here in these conditions."

"Just leave me. You can get back to camp quicker and you can send help in the morning."

"No."

"I wasn't asking." He says sternly

"Neither was I." He sighs and runs his hand over his face.

"I'm not going to leave you. Either we both go or we both stay here."

"Your stubborn you know that?" He says creaking a smile.

"I've been told." I say attempting to smile back. My shoulder was throbbing so it made being in a good mood a little difficult. I scoot over next to him and he slings his arm about my shoulder once again. On the count of three we stand up again. This time he accidentally grips where I got scratched. I try my hardest not to scream but a small groan escapes my lips. It felt like fire shot through my arm and, the injury felt like it was pulsating.

"What happened?" He says trying to look over at my shoulder.

"I got scrached. Its fine, just please don't do that again." I plead chocking back the tears. I pull his arm back over my shoulder.

"You need to wrap it up to stop the bleeding."

"Thanks for the tip but, we don't have anything to wrap it up with." He removes his arm from around me again and takes off his jacket. He had on a long sleeve shirt. Before I could tell him not to he rips off the sleeve of the shirt.

"Hold out your arm."

"Dean we need to get going."

"I've spent nights out here before plus it'll just take a second." I hold out my arm. His fingers hover over where I was scratched. He examines my shoulder carefully.

"This might hurt a bit." He looks at me. For the first time I notice his eyes are soft and sympathetic.

"It's ok." I say closing my eyes bracing myself. I feel the cloth against my skin it stings at first but the pressure makes it feel a little better. I open my eyes and he is tying it off. He runs his hand down my arm once he's done. That little action sends goose bumps up my arms. I look up at him and his face is inches from mine. I want to kiss him but he made it clear not to. I look back down. I feel him left up my chin. His slowly leans toward me seeing if I'll pull away but I don't. His warm lips softly press against mine. Then he pulls away and, throws his arm around my shoulder.

"Let's go home before we meet one on his buddies." He says gesturing at the beast. A small smile spreads across my face. He kissed me. I wouldn't have believed it myself if it weren't for my lips tingling. I wonder why he did though? A few days ago he seemed pretty sure kissing was a mistake. Oh well,  I can figure it out later right now we just need to be sure we get back to camp alive.
