A Special Visitor Part 1

Things had began to settle down with Shredder,  he was seemingly more focussed on re building his resources following Karai and her 'witch girl' friend as Michelangelo calls Shinigami, blowing up his bot factory and burning his money operations down among other things. The turtles knew he'd be back & probably with a vengeance now he'd lost Karai who had turned her back on him. 

Splinter was determined when that time came they would all be ready, and focused on training the turtles hard keeping them on high alert, not wanting them to drop their guard or be complacent.

The turtles were all struggling with exhaustion following their long adventures & journey in space and all and were finding Splinter's excessive training a bit much, Mikey, Raph & Donnie all complained which made Splinter push them harder. 

Donnie wanted to catch up with his lab, he had so much time to make up for, Raphael just wanted a breather & Mikey shared his sentiments. Leonardo obeyed his Sensei faithfully despite many 'teachers pet & suck up' digs by Raphael but having lost his father for six months & lived a time fearing he would never see him again he just wanted to be close to him again so he never minded the training he was passionate about ninjutsu after all.

However before todays session the turtles saw Splinter was reading a telegram it was from his old and by now aged Sensei Master Kato, who taught at his fathers dojo during Splinter's youth, the telegram had just arrived, informing him he would be visiting him and was on his way & to expect him any time now.

Splinter revealed the news to the turtles when they arrived for the daily training session.

"So does he know you are a rat?" Raph asked, rather bluntly in typical Raphael fashion.

"He does my son & he knows about you all, we connect often through meditation & have long kept in contact" Splinter explained, 

"So why is he coming father?" Leonardo asked, curious.

"There must be reason for such a trip, he must be getting on a bit and it's quite a journey from Japan" Donnie added butting in, feeling suspicious by the out of the blue visit.

"I do not know, my sons but we'll find out soon, we will go and collect him from the docks tonight" Splinter replied.

"Can't you meditate and ask him?" Michelangelo asked innocently, as he fidgeted with his chucks, 

"we'll find out soon enough, now take your positions and get ready to spar in pairs" Splinter said bringing the questioning to an end, particularly as he had no answers to his sons many questions and he wanted the very same answers himself. 

Later.

The four turtles and their Sensei left the lair undercover of darkness and were at the docks disguised in hooded robes waiting for their guest, Master Splinter's old Sensei Master Kato to arrive by boat. 

They were all confused by the sudden visit and as the turtles had never met him before, they were unsure of what to expect. Splinter rarely left the lair so this was quite an event in itself, when he did venture out it was usually connected to Shredder's actions forcing him into battle.

When the ship in question finally docked they saw their first glimpse of the man, he was of slight build, perhaps shrunken with age he walked with a cane but had sparkling black eyes & a glint in his eye & he was alert, he had long white hair with a reseeding hairline and a goatee beard also white and the brothers watched as their Sensei bowed and greeted his own former Master. 

Leonardo was the first of the turtles to greet him also with a bow & followed one by one of the rest of the brothers. 

Then they lead him back to the lair, Master Splinter after dinner took their guest to the Dojo wanting to quiz him about the visit he hadn't really answered the turtles enquiries being vague & just claiming he just wanted to meet them all while he could & Splinter became a bit unnerved. While the turtles were out on patrol the two had a chat.
