CHAPTER 3: How Did He Know?
Murder.
A case and a word seemingly scary, but not at all rare in Crethymon.
It's basically like a fart.
It happens anytime anywhere unexpectedly or planned and it's pretty common.
Which makes you wonder since Crethymon has a lot of police force. It could be very much for display though because they do not do anything about the crimes. Rumour has it, that police departments like to accept money, so it isn't surprising if a crime is suddenly ignored or some random person is 'guilty' of a crime made by some rich person.
I gasped a little, shocked but not surprised at the man's words.
"Well, that's not really surprising," I said almost annoyed. My anticipation dissipated just like that.
The drunk man shrugged, "Probably, but did you know that the murderer was said to have been a member of the Bluryfog gang?"
I raised my eyebrows, "No, but how can you say those?" I asked.
As far as I know now, it was just a murder. Plus, accusing one of the biggest gangs in Crethymon is a crime against Bluryfog even if it's true. I heard that they mercilessly kill those who accuse them and dump their bodies where they write words like, "Never accuse us."
Plus, it's been a few months, and the Bluryfog gang never really did anything other than stay low, at least, that's what I know.
However, I won't be surprised if it IS connected with the Bluryfog gang since the doctors, politicians, those people are natural enemies of the group so they could have also done it.
"Well," the man paused as he took another chug of his whiskey, "Let's just say I heard it from a few people."
I shook my head, the alcohol probably did its thing already making the man make things up, as much as I need a topic right now, I don't think I'd appreciate it if I publish something less dangerous for me.
At this point, I just want to go home, I checked my watch and saw that it was 9:20 pm already.
"Well, it's late now. I need to go." I said as I stood up, the man looked up at me and nodded as he stared at my watch.
"You're right, this will be farewell then," he said as he raised his bottle up to a goodbye.
I walked to Mister Dacy's table and gave him a cryshal. I was about to leave when Mr. Darcy called out to me and pointed at the drunk man who is now sleeping on the table.
I raised my eyebrow and Mister Darcy sighed, "I'm sorry to ask you for this Mr. Zelkry but could you bring this man out?" he begged as he stared at me with eyes that seemed to ask for help. Begging even.
Can't blame him though.
I resisted a complaining groan, but as a 'gentleman' I did what he asked.
I walked back to the drunk man and shook his shoulder, he groaned and after a few seconds of contemplating if I should do this or not.
I hooked my arm to his and place his other hand on top of my shoulder as I dragged him, as we walked near Mister Darcy's table, the drunk man slowly took a small coin from his pocket and gave it to him. The coin he gave looked very familiar, yet I couldn't remember where I had seen it.
