A/N: I'm sorry if I didn't manage to update these past weeks that's because Exams are starting.
Exams finished yesterday, so here's an update.
Now, I just want to say, that even I was shocked and surprised by how I wrote this chapter since it didn't follow my plan, so yeah...
Warnings: Error ahead.
***CHAPTER 8: THREAD AND NEEDLE
The thought of waking up late doesn't bother me anymore. After all, I am now a person who works from home, as one could say.
So here I am, standing, wearing a robe-which I grabbed from my bedroom closet holding a cup of coffee as I stared down through the window of Griffin's office.
Everyone looked busy doing their routines from up here, some were sweeping the floor, some were chit-chatting and some were walking at different speeds and in different directions.
I don't exactly remember why I suddenly had the urge to look outside the window and just watch the people as they do their thing, but I did.
I sipped my coffee, feeling the comforting warm liquid seep through my body. I moved to get a biscuit and chewed on it.
Today, I had a plan of waking up early, packing some papers and pens, and then going out to interview some people about the Bluryfog case since I still need other people's points of view and opinions.
That plan soon went down the drain since I woke up at 10:40 am.
I was about to turn my head to get another biscuit when something or someone caught my eye.
From up here, I could see someone wearing a black suit and a hat. He was also walking with a cane. Even though I couldn't exactly see their face, I could tell that they were male due to their stature and body structure. They also looked like they were in their late 50s
This man crossed the road and then walked in front of the House of Lion-Bird gate. He stood there, eyeing the building and I did the same to him. Although he had a hat on I could also say that the man is bald since.
He then took something out of his pocket, it was a coin. I eyed him suspiciously and put down my coffee.
Then the bald man flipped the coin. Faintly I could see that it landed on tails.
With that the man placed the coin back in their pocket, then looked up, staring directly at where I was standing. Wrinkles, the man had lots of wrinkles and a huge nose.
I remember Miss Zarina telling me that the window glasses up here are actually tinted making the people outside, not see what's inside. Now normally, I'd let it be. After all, no one can see me right?
But no, this one was different. I froze and quickly hid to the side making sure that I could still see the man.
I don't know if this person just somehow landed their eyes in this window, or if they can see me but it sure gave me a fright.
The man soon then looked down, fixed his hat, turned, and headed to the left side of the walking path.
I quickly drank my coffee, grabbed a notebook and pen, ran outside of the office, changed into some good clothes, sprayed Velvet Tobacco-since I haven't taken a bath- grabbed my trusty bag, went out, and locked the door.
I glanced at my car and decided, 'That's gonna gather a lot of attention.' before coming out of the gate, locking it, and running to the path where the man went.
I don't know what came over me. My instinct oddly just told me to follow the man and I did.
I mentally hit myself, 'Dammit Kiorin, that man could be anywhere now!' I thought.
